Between Time (Pharaoh Atem X OCReader)

Love is Strong

"Shh come on!" Mana whispered ducking behind a pillar she held my hand tightly. "We have to be cautious." I was shaking we had to overthrow that women. "I know some of the secret passages around the palace when me and Atem were children we'd play in them" I nodded with and began to follow. We snuck quietly around some of the guards until we came across a square piece of limestone "we have to move this" Mana said pushing the large block out of the way. 

The passage was small we would have to crawl our way through its musty walls and cobwebs.

I gulped. i could feel the cold sweat on my forehead. I clutched my belly. My belly had it gotten bigger? 

"you go first Evelyn" she gestured I nodded I held my belly carefully bending down. Mana was right...I shouldn't of come. But for him...I had too. 

The passage was dark and narrow, we crawled for a long time before Mana tugged at my foot "here!" she whispered she slowly pressed upward lifting the slab over. she crawled out reaching her hand out to help me. 

I lifted into a hallway one near the main chambers. my heart sank as the palace once brilliantly decorated was now stale and lifeless. My heart raced as I feared for Atems life. 

"what was that?" a deep voice echoed "over there" a guard shouted 

We ran quickly hiding behind one of the pillars holding our breath as one of the men looked around. 

"I swore I saw something" he sneered. Mana clapped over my mouth, trying to keep my breath down. I must of been breathing harder then I though a sharp pain in my stomach caused me to wince. 

a loud crash could be heard in the distance the guard shouted to one another and ran toward the sound. 

I let out a loud gasp before falling to the ground. 

"Evelyn! you have to take an easy..how long have you been with child?" 

I thought about it a moment.. it only had been..a few- I paused a few weeks maybe a few months in the future.. time was..complicated. My stomach enlarged again My clothes clung to me now. 

"fuck" I whispered 

Mana's eyes grew with concern. We must find pharaoh Atem and get out of here...

I slowly stood up clinging to the pillar. 

"lets go" I whispered, Mana nodded 

We headed to the main hall my heart racing they could of killed him by now

We hid behind a pillar. 

The Thief king pointed his bent knife to Atem

"So..the great pharaoh has returned..do you like what we've done to the place he smirked

Atems eyes narrowed jaw clenched his wrists bounded to steel loops in the limestone floors. 

He began to tug on them " I will snuff the life out of you, and YOU" he glared at the queen who sat still eating grapes off a bronze plate 

"Yes, yes Atem, it seems like your not in any place to be making these demands. I don't know how you are still alive, but by the gods I will send you back to where you belong."

The thief king clapped "bring me the great sword!" he said grinning "you know what the punishment is for tyranny"

Atem bursts into rage thrashing in place trying to break from his bondage

Mana gasped her hand on my arm. 

"I have to do something Mana...I have to do something"

Mana held my arm "you are in no condition to do anything.."she whispered..

She took a deep breath and handed me a small gold vial 

"It took my 12 years to make this..." she smiled "I hope you find use for it" 

I held the vial up "what is it?" my eyes darted back to the pharaoh

Mana nodded.. "go...save him. Use it" 

I gulped hard my fingers pressed on my pregnant belly.. would he...

The thief king took hold of the large sword. He nodded to the guards "Hold him down, neck wide open now" He grinned He lifted the sword up

"NOW" mana pushed me

I walked out into the open, the sun beamed through the top illuminating the room. 

The thief king paused his eyes fixed on me, then the queen. 

the queen sat up setting down a goblet and wiping wine from her lips 

"what is this.." she sneered walking slowly down from the throne. 

her eyes set on atem.. "one of your concubine...is pregnant" she grinned

"what!" atem yelled the guards keeping his head against the sand. he tried to turn to see who it is he prayed it wasn't.

"shut up" I said

The thief king groaned "can we please get on with it? I am looking to spill some blood!"

The queen grinned pulling a small dagger from her red adorned sleeve 

"lets cut you open and kill that abomination inside of you"

The thief king smiled and lifted the sword again. the queens pace hurried toward me

I drank the vial mana had handed me hoping.. that maybe it would help unsure of what else I could do by put fate I threw myself atop atem inches before it cut through his neck. the sword obliterated into a million tiny fragments of gold the queen paused her emerald eyes huge. 

"what is this magic?" she sneered still headed towards me she struck me her knife too shattered into a billion pieces

Silence filled the room I broke atem from his bondage his eyes laid on me speechless his hand grazed my cheek before a sharp pain went into my shoulder. 

"gold steel is always the best weapon against magic" the thief king sneered his blade wedged into my shoulder the pain was unbelievable. 

Atem yelled grabbing the handle of the golden sword and twisting it into the Thief king The Queen screamed for the guards.  

My shoulder burned, but not as badly as the pain in my belly. I screamed out in pain. 

Atem turned to consul me but the queen came rushing with another sword. 

Everything seemed to move in slow motion, sand blood screams.. Atem managed to subdue the queen. Demanding the guards to their duty. 

I was feeling myself faint I was covered in water now, water? I felt my head hit the sandy tile The commotion was intense beside me I turned to see blood and water mixing into the sand. another pound of pain shot through my body I let another cry out. 

I heard the clanking of swords and yelling before seeing Mana her face pale

"shes- shes going into labor.. we need to get her out of here!" 

Did she say..labor?
