Mahad and Seto joined me. I knew they were worried about me making and rash choices. And how they were so very right.

I couldnt talk to Evelyn. I couldn't it was wrong enough. It would surely kill her.

Mahad kept trying to pep talk to me, boost my sense of confidance. I toned him out most the way, I still trying to find a way put of this.

We arrived within the day to the great Persian palace it was greatly decorated and tall much more impressive than mine surely because of his wealthy empire.

We were greeted by dancers and entertainers. I assumed they were trying to dazzle themselves for us to love them. I wasnt buying it. Mahad would nudge me to be kind and hold my tongue. He's lucky he's been like a brother or id surely cut his tongue out.

We got off our horses. The great king await us in the door way he was a large man decorated head to toe on gold jewels and rubies. His beard and hair were long and dry. He opened his great arms with a larger than life laugh before embracing me

"Ah Atem, I am so happy you are finally here, I'm saddend of the passing of your father, but I embrace your new ruling. Please come in we have much to talk about.

I nodded smiling weakly trying to put up this facade.
We sat in his throne room elegant but less large than mine. Rugs adorned the floors and seemed to hand off the walls as well.

I took a seat at one of the pillows on the floor.
"Did you recieve the contract arrangement?"

I nodded

"And?"

I saw mahad look to me ready to hit me in a moments notice Seto too he seemed nervous.

"And....I accept" I pushed the words out I felt the pain in my heart it was like the gods themselves knew.

The king clapped his hands "wonderful news! You will be my Son soon then! Next week? We have so much to give and trade with you.." I found his rambling and enthusiasms annoying. I smile and nodded sweating slightly as I had to figure this out.

"Can...I meet her?" I said hesitantly

"Of course!!" The king laughed before clapping his hands.

A beautiful women with emerald eyes her face and hair cover came from behind a curtain she immediately bowed before me

"It is an honor to meet you my future husband"

Her voice was soft. I might of loved her had I knew her before Evelyn.

"May I take your daughter out on a short walk?" The king nodded directing us to the gardens."

We walked together quietly for a moment until we were far away from the palace.

"What do I call you?" I asked bluntly

"Diamn"

I nodded "I must ask you to never repeat this conversation.."

She stopped and looked at me.
"Go on...you have my word as your wife"

I clenched my fists.
"I...dont want this...I love...I love another...but I cannot afford to fight your father..I cannot afford to lose her.."

She looked away
"I too love someone..."
Her voice a whisper
"What were planning to do"

I bit my thumb
"I plan to...marry you...but we shall not have anything bonding us together...this is to keep egypt safe. My people safe."

She nodded "I see...."

She quietly began to walk again which made me nervous.

"We shall be wed next week. I shall make my arrangements." She left me there in the gardens. She seemed almost course with me as though...she was angered
It put me more on edge...now I just had to...talk to Evelyn .

The next day I was to spend the day with the king and my future wife. They showed me there land which I must admit was lush full of strange animals. Very different from Egypt. It was pleasent and courtly. I spilled many words I wanted to say. My future wife was....flirtatious holding my hand leaning on my shoulder it made me uncomfortable I felt wrong
But I had to put up the act she tried to kiss me but I kissed her forehead instead.

I wanted this trip to end quickly now.

The next morning we head off as soon as the great god ra showed us is h
Eye. I woke everyone up to leave. Of course I had to say goodbye....

"Goodbye my future son, blessed that travels" the king was pleased and happy he seemed to think everythung went perfect. Good enough for me

"Goodbye Atem," Diamn fingers touched my face making me blush. She was a very beautiful and inticing women.

I smiled and grabbed her hand rejecting her as vaugly as possible.

We headed off back to egypt my heart was racing the whole way mahad and Seto were rejoyced. They were proud of me for being a good leader and Pharaoh. However...I wasn't proud at all...I was disgusted with myself. Evelyn was all I could think about.

Late in the evening we arrived back to the palace I immediately went searching for her.

She was sleeping in my bed soundly.

I curled up next to her rubbing her cheek I wanted to keep these moment forever.
Her eyes fluttered open a tired smile appeared on her face.
"Atem...your home,"
I kissed her forehead.

She sat up her smile gone now
"Atem...I need to talk to you...everyone has been so strange to me upset by me Isis and mana told me they worried for me, that bad things were coming"

I felt my heart drop in the pits of my stomach.

"Mana said its a conversation she cant have with me. What is that about?"

Her face seemed worried. I didnt know how to tell her. If I should tell her.

Her eyes were intense now
"What...arnt you telling me?

I couldnt look at her I turned away from her. It just made things worse.

She came back in front of me
"You are hiding something whats going on? Atem tell me..."

I looked at her again I felt tears coming on.
