483 days since the virus spread
Early morning
It hasn't stopped pouring with rain for three days now. All of the roads are flooded, almost a foot deep in water.
We can't afford to drive through the flood of water. If the car gets wrecked of the broken tree branches and everything beneath the water that we can't see, we're going to have a big problem.
We returned to the cave we stayed in the first night in Ohio. The road was blocked and it was too dangerous to get out with all the lightning.
We couldn't even find more food or water because of the weather conditions, which means we had to share everything we had. I gave all of my food to Frank, making sure he is okay. I don't know, I just wasn't as hungry lately. I guess I'm just worried about him.
The lightning and thunder hasn't stopped since the storm started, which is causing Frank to be afraid all the time, at least he has kind of calmed down. He doesn't like storms, they freak him out for some reason.
I sit up looking out of the cave, with Frank asleep on my shoulder. I wipe my tired eye and look over at him, gently kissing his head. My sniper rifle says next to him on the floor.
He is so peaceful when he's asleep, I wish he would be at ease all the time. I don't like it when he is stressed out or sad, it makes me unhappy if he is unhappy.
I don't want him ever to feel bad, I never want him to be unhappy. He is all I care about. His very breath is my existence. If something had to happen to him...I would lose myself. I can't even bare the thought of him being away for more than five minutes. How would I survive an eternity? I wouldn't, that's a fact.
I sigh deeply at my thoughts and look over sleeping Ray and Mikey, to the outside of the cave.
My thoughts are just running away with me. Everything is going to be fine. It will work all work out. It has to.
Looking out the entrance of the cave, I see it has stopped raining for a bit. The sky is still completely covered in big, dark, puffy clouds, but it looks like it's heading the opposite way of where we are. That is a relief, we need to get on the road again, but it also means that the Zs are coming back out.
At least we managed to block out the entrance of the cave so that no one could get to us, not even Zs. It's still stressful though.
I don't know how flooded the roads are either. We could be stuck here for quite a while, there might not be a way to get safely out of here either. I hope not, we're almost out of supplies.
Frank stenches his arms up as he yawns, trying to wake up. As he finishes that, he rests his head back on my shoulder, snuggling up in my neck.
"Good morning." I whisper and smile at him.
"I had a dream about you." He says and looks deeply into my eyes. He takes my hand and rests it on his thigh.
"Yeah, what about?" I say chuckling, slightly blushing.
"We were in the woods, sitting on some wooden bench thing, watching the stars. There was like a picnic thing going on, but I can't remember all of the details, but I remember it was perfect. Absolutely perfect, everything was so different from what it really is today. I liked my dream, at the end, you told you loved me." He says and looks down at him holding my hands tightly.
