479 days since the virus spread
Later that day
I can't stop smiling after what Frank said to me. My heart just feels so full.
Something tells me...something just tells me that I'm going to love him forever.
Frank kisses me sweetly and looks into my eyes as the car comes to a halt. He puts his hand on my cheek and looks deeply into my eyes, making me blush.
"I love you." He whispers.
I want to open myself up completely and let him in, but I'm just scared. Being in love should be the last thing I'm have to worry about, but it's all I can think of.
Why did he suddenly just become so loving? Was it always like this and I didn't notice? Everything was just too crazy to see and now that everything calmed down, it's normal? I'm not use to normal.
I hold his hand as his parks the Range Rover next to the wreckage of a building.
He kisses my hand and then turns to me, kindly smiling at me. He unbuckles my seatbelt for me and then slips out of his side of the car.
We climb out and he take the medical bag before I could get it. He gently puts it in my hand and then kisses my cheek as I take it.
As I pull away from him, I suddenly look over my shoulder.
I can feel an unfriendly presence, someone or something is watching us. There's a bad vibe setting off all of the red flags.
I feel like we're being watched.
"Hurry, let's get inside." I say anxiously and look out to the bushes.
"Are you okay?" He says, grabbing my hand as I hurry towards the door, causing me to drop the bag.
He bends down to pick it up for me, but I quickly take it off the ground and continue to hurry towards the door.
"Gerard?" He says, as I didn't reply the first time.
"Yeah, just in a hurry. I don't like being out here, I feel vulnerable. The zombies are all over the place." I say, putting my hand through my hair, trying to act natural.
I think we're being followed. Well, I'm sure if it. I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me, but I swear someone is looking at us from the bushes a few yards away.
He frowns at me and then turns to the entrance.
"Its us," Frank calls and knocks on the door, "Please open up, Ray."
The lock clicks and Ray opens the door. He tied his hair back and his forehead drenched in sweat. He looks over us and sees the Range Rover.
"You found a car? A Range Rover? That's so sweet!" He says and happily looks at the car.
"Yeah, we found it at the back of the clinic." Frank says, highly pleased with himself.
"Did you find anything, well, anything else?" He asks, nervously and locks the door behind us.
It's like a hot oven in here. I can feel a swear breaking out on my forehead.
