Later that day
"Mikey," I say, putting my hand on his shoulder, trying to calm him down, "Calm down. I know what I'm doing, please?"
"How can I calm down?! You're doing a blood transfusion on yourself to help Ray, I should match his blood type too. We're related for God's sake! You shouldn't be doing this, this isn't a good idea." Mikey grumbles bitterly and crosses his arms angrily.
I went through all of our blood types to find out who is most compatible with Ray. It turned out to be me, I'm the closest, but not an exact match. That's troubling me, but I suppose it's better than nothing.
This is a huge risk I'm taking, his body can reject my blood and kill him, but I can't just leave him here to die when it could've saved his life. This is a very difficult situation for me, I probably shouldn't make this comparison but it feel like a game, it's up to me to figure out this level. It isn't as if the other levels weren't hard enough already.
"Mikey, just relax. Everything is going to be okay, do you mind just bringing my med bag here please." I ask politely as I put a extremely tight strap around my bicep to let the veins pop up.
He sighs and hands me the bag.
Looking at his face, I can see how uncomfortable it is for him. He's not happy about this at all.
"You're so stubborn sometimes," he says and let's a huge sigh of frustration out, "I hope you know I don't approve of this." He says unhappily and stares at me.
"I know, but just let me help him. It will all be over soon, if I do this, he will get better. Just go with Frank and check the perimeter one more time, I should be finished the time you're back."
"What is something goes wrong?" Mikey whimpers, I can see his bottom lip trembling.
"I don't know Mikey, I really don't, but I know everything is going to be okay. We can only hope for the best."
He turns his back to me and looks over to Frank, who is walking towards the three of us in the car. He looks a bit down, but he still wears a smile on his face.
I'm very lucky to have him, he's really been able to help Mikey. He's been his rock for the last few days, I appreciate that. He's made my life easier and he's been supporting Mikey.
"Come on, just give him some space. Its going to be fine." Frank says and signals Mikey to come with him.
Mikey sighs heavily and looks at me one last time. He turns back to Frank and he nods. They start walking away, but Frank looks over his shoulder and winks at me, wishing me luck. I smile back at him.
I hope this goes the way that I planned it.
The sun is starting to set, I must try to hurry this up.
I hastily open my medical bag and take out all of the blood pumps and all the things I need. I put another strap tightly around Ray's arm.
I put a needle on the pipe and plug it into the blood pump, luckily the one I found doesn't need electricity to work. I hesitate to stick the needle in my arm, I really hate needles, but I have to do this.
I can't even look away, otherwise I'll do it wrong. That really sucks. When I was younger, I couldn't even sit still for a flu shot. Now I have to draw my own blood, you can imagine how far this is out of my comfort zone.
It pinches as I stick the needle into my arm, making me twitch a bit. I really don't like this, I already feel dizzy.
I set up all the equipment and stick the needle into Ray's arm as well. The machine immediately works and starts drawing my blood.
