Chapter Twenty-Two: Alive

Third Person's POV

"Now we're serious." Jennie voiced "You start."

"The night we talked to your mom about V's condition. She said that she doesn't want to lose another son again. Is there something you want to tell me, babe?"

"We're not talking about that, Lis." Jennie runs her fingers to hair "We're not talking about that." She repeated

Lisa nodded "It seems like you don't trust me enough."

"I trust you, Lis. I'm not ready to talk about that." Jennie tried to reach for Lisa's hand but Lisa swatted it away

"There is a chance that my own father killed your brother." Lisa revealed her theory "That your brother was one of my rapists."

Jennie shook her head "No. That can't be. My brother is not a rapist."

"The year and the month that your brother flew here was the same as when I got raped. Your brother was with his friends, right?"

"How can you know all of these?" Jennie's voice is trembling "Hanbin can't do that."

"This is the reason why I flew back here, I want to find out what happened to them. I have a theory that my father... killed them."

"Hanbin is alive. Your theory is not true." Jennie stood up "Except the part that maybe he's one of your rapists."

"You... you know all about this?!" Lisa exclaimed, "and you're not telling me?!"

"No! Don't tell mom about this but Hanbin contacted me years ago. He said that he's alive and he can't come home because he did something horrible that will put our family in danger. I just realized that the horrible thing he did was... he raped you." Jennie started to cry

"Oh my god! I... no, we need to find your brother." Lisa stood in front of Jennie and wiped her tears away "Stop crying, babe."

"My brother did a horrible thing to you, Lis. He raped you and..."

"Shh." Lisa shushed her girlfriend "What your brother did to me doesn't affect what I am feeling for you. Nothing can change that."

"But..."

"No buts." Lisa pecked Jennie's lips "You better stop crying now or else."

Jennie tried hard to stop crying "You still have the guts to threaten me?" She pouted

Lisa pecked Jennie's lips once more "Smile now, babe. I don't want to see my precious girlfriend crying."

"You're too kind, babe. How can you let that pass? You should be mad at us because we're the family of your rapist."

"But you're also my family now, babe. Your family showed nothing but kindness to me. Knowing your mom, I know that she well-raised all of you, maybe.. maybe something provoked your brother to do that, plus past is past, I just want to know what happened to the rest of your brother's friends."

"As far as I remember, Hanbin said that he's in Jeju-si. I don't know exactly where." Jennie tried to remember her last talk with her brother "He also said that someone helped him but he doesn't want to tell me who."

"Do you still have his phone number?" Lisa asked while she's driving

"I lost my old phone, remember?" Jennie sighed "What are we going to do now?"

"If someone helped him... who would it be?" Then an idea popped into Lisa's mind "We have a small house in Jeju-si. Dad brought me and Bambam there before."

"Do you still exactly where is it?" Jennie watched all the buildings they are passing by

"Yes. We're going there now."

"Noona, I already found Mr. Chu, what do you want me to do next?"

"Hire someone to watch everything he does. Don't let him know that you're following him and don't ever do something that I didn't tell you." Lisa is still driving to their destination while Jennie fell asleep awhile ago

"Okay, nonna. Have you talked to Jennie about her brother? Is she there? Can she hear me? Am I on loudspeaker?" Bam asked question after question

"She's with me, yes, you're on loudspeaker, no she can't hear you because she's sleeping and yes I've already told her everything." Lisa patiently answered all the questions

"What was her reaction?"

"She can't believe it at first but she remembered her talk to her brother years ago, according to Jennie that her brother told her that he did something horrible, Jennie connect one point to another, and yeah she believed me."

"So her brother is alive? Are you going to find him?"

"Yes, her brother is alive, in fact, we're on our way to the location of his brother."

"How did you find him?"

"Her brother also mentioned that someone helped him, I just assumed that it was dad but I'm still not sure, we're just trying if my guess is right."

"Why would dad help your rapist? Are you out of your mind?"

"I know it's ridiculous but I can't think who will help him, her brother knows no one here in Jeju." Lisa reasoned out

"If you say so. By the way, I remembered something... days after you got raped, I heard dad talking to someone over his phone... I heard that someone helped him to find your rapists."

Lisa didn't speak after that, comprehending all the things in her mind.

"That's it, Bam! What if it was Jennie's brother who helped dad to find the others in exchange for his safety?! What do you think?"

"That's possible! You're a genius, noona!"

"All of these are still theories, we need to find Jennie's brother to ask what really happened, meanwhile, don't ever remove your sight to Mr. Chu."

"Yes, noona. Good luck with your mini-mission. Bye for now." He then ended the call

Lisa glanced for a brief second at her girlfriend. It's a win-win situation for both of them. Lisa will get all the answers she wants and Jennie will be able to see her long-lost brother.

"I hope I'll get all the answers I want. I don't want to go home bringing anything but heartache. I want to solve my nightmare. I want to end all the questions messing in my mind."
