Chapter Twenty: Missing

Third Person's POV

"Sir, we went to the club where your brother used to go before and we found some lead."

The news made him stand up from his swivel chair "Finally! Spill the beans."

"A week before your brother and his friends disappeared they said that spotted your brother talking to two girls named Lalisa Manoban and Park Chaeyoung."

'That pest! What did she do to my brother?!'

"Any other than that?"

"One more, sir. The crew that I talked to said maybe, just maybe that your brother and his friends raped one of the girls. The crew said that he didn't see who was the girl that your brother dragged out of the club."

"Mom?"

Mrs. Kim closed the book she's reading "Jennie, you need something from mommy?"

"Actually WE want to talk to you." Jennie entered Mrs. Kim's bedroom with Lisa behind her

"Good evening, Mrs. Kim." Lisa greeted politely

"Maybe you should learn how to call me mom." Mrs. Kim said to Lisa, she patted the space next to her, motioning them to sit

Lisa closed the door behind.

"Mom, I know Gab already told you." Jennie started the moment they sat

"About you moving into Lisa's house?" Mrs. Kim looked at Lisa "Don't you think it's early for that? You've been together for just months now."

Lisa knew it. Mrs. Kim is against it.

"We understand, mom. I just want to spend more time with Jennie and Gab. I completely understand if you don't want them to move in."

"It's not that I don't want them to move into your house, Lisa. I also want my granddaughter to be in a house where it's only her and her parents but I'm not ready yet to let go of my two precious daughters. It will be the first time that Jennie and Gab will be far away from me, I hope you understand." She held Lisa's hand "Give me time to get used to the thought, okay?"

"I completely understand, mom. Just like what I've said to Jennie, I'm not rushing them. They can move whenever they want."

"One more thing, mom." Jennie joined their conversation "About V."

"What is it about your brother?"

"I don't know if V already told you but I'm going to say it. He's experiencing chest pain and he wants to do his surgery as soon as possible." Jennie informed her mom

Mrs. Kim felt like someone poured cold water to her "Oh my god." She covered her mouth to prevent a sob to escape "Why he didn't tell me about that? My son." Mrs. Kim cried "Please, help your brother, Jen. I can't lose another son again."

The last statement made Lisa confuse. Another son? There is something that Jennie is not telling her.

The next day, Lisa invited her cousin to go shopping with her.
They are now walking around the mall.

"Chae, is there something that you guys hiding from me?"

"What do you mean, Lis?" Chae frowned "We're not hiding anything from you."

'I can't lose another son again.' Mrs. Kim's words kept on ringing in Lisa's mind

"About Jennie's brother."

"About V? I thought you're already aware of his condition?"

"No. About her other brother." Lisa looked at her cousin and she saw the uneasiness in her face

'They are really hiding something from me.'

"Do you still have something to buy? Maybe it's better if we discuss it in the car."

"Jennie's big brother never came back home when his friends invited him to go to Jeju." Chaeyoung said "That was years ago, they already searched for him but they can't find him, nor his friends. Their missing case was closed already, the Kims concluded that there was something happened to him and considered him dead."

"And why Jennie is not telling me about him?" Lisa is confuse "Doesn't she trust me?"

"The Kims never mentioned him again. Maybe Jennie doesn't want to discuss it. I have a gut, Lisa but I'm not sure about it."

"What is it, Chae?"

"Jennie's brother went missing the same year you got rape." Chaeyoung bites her lower lip "Maybe.. maybe he's one of your rapists."

Lisa gasped "That... that can't be."

"It can be, Lis. I can't take it anymore. I was planning to tell you this when you called me that you'll fly here to Seoul but when we found out that the girl you are looking for was Jennie... I had a second thought of telling this to you."

Lisa is crying "I... I don't know what to think. Fuck it! Jennie must don't know about this or else!"

Jennie searched for Rośe the moment she got home and she found her with the rest of her family in the living room, watching TV together.

"Chae, you were Lisa this morning, right?" Jennie asked her sister-in-law

Gab immediately threw herself to her mom.

"Yes. Why?"

Jennie kissed Gab's cheek "She's not answering my calls. I'm starting to worry. I went to their house but she wasn't there, I also went to her office but her mom said Lisa wasn't there also."

Jennie saw the tension in Rośe's face. Her sister-in-law is hiding something.

"I know you know where she is, Chae. Please, tell me where she is because it's killing me. I'm worried. This is the first she did this."

"Did you two fight?" Mrs. Kim is also concerned with Lisa

"We didn't, mom. That is why I'm freaking out." Jennie explained

"Is there something that happened to mommy Lisa?" Gab asked while she's in her mom's arms "I want mommy Lisa." She said, sounding almost crying

"Chae, I'm begging you. Tell me where she is." Jennie begged, "If I need to search every single corner of Seoul I will do it."

Chaeyoung contemplated if she will tell Jennie the truth. If she does, Lisa will get mad but if she doesn't, everything will get worse.

"Even if you search the whole Seoul you won't find her." She took a deep breath and said "She flew back to Jeju."
