"What are those two up to?" Cedric wondered, his curious gaze fixated on the Weasley twins. Angelina had beckoned him over the next day at breakfast. Emmeline couldn't decide if she was elated or humiliated that the boy was sat eating breakfast with them.
"They're trying to prank Veronica, Vivienne and Velma," Emmeline presumed.
"What?" sputtered Cedric, almost spraying his mouthful of golden pancakes everywhere. "I love those two! Their pranks are hilarious."
"You think?" Emmeline pressed.
Enthusiastically, Cedric nodded before getting up and leaving the Great Hall.
"See you in Charms," he called before disappearing.
"Yeah, bye." Emmeline stared at the place where he had once sat.
Angelina laughed. "You are smitten!"

Emmeline was paralysed when Cedric moved to sit next to her in Charms.
"Do you mind?" he checked before him and a couple of his friends sat down on the same table as Emmeline.
Emmeline's thumping heartbeat could be heard in her head. "No, yeah, sit down," she insisted. Beads of sweat trickled down her face. She was trembling so much she had to sit down before she fell down.
Veronica was floored when she appeared at the door of Flitwick's classroom. "Vivienne, please tell me Cedric isn't sat with Alicia Spinnet!" she wailed.
"He isn't sat with Alicia Spinnet," answered Vivienne. "Because that is Emmeline Walshaw."
"I don't care who it is I want to know why he is sat with her!" cried Veronica, flouncing to her seat.
"Veronica wants to know why you're sat with Emmeline," Vivienne enquired, patting Cedric on the shoulder.
"She's really good at Charms," Cedric explained casually. "And we really need help."
Veronica sported a sour expression the entire Charms lesson and Emmeline struggled to repress her smile. Cedric chose to sit next to her rather than Veronica! She couldn't believe it.
Angelina was beyond surprised when Emmeline practically skipped out of charms. Elated, Emmeline filled her in on what had occured. Emmeline was crestfallen to see the look of scepticism shining in Angelina's deep eyes.
"What?" pressed Emmeline.
"I just," began Angelina.
Emmeline's eyes flashed with anger. "You think I'm not good enough for him don't you?"
"What!?" Angelina practically spat. "As if you'd think that! I just know that Cedric and his friends have a bit of a reputation and I don't want you getting hurt."
"Look, I know I'm not good enough for him. I know. I'm not stupid. I just wanted this dream to last a little longer, okay? I wanted you to be happy for something finally going right in my life, for once. But it's not going right, it's all fake and I know that!" Tears glazed her vision and she began storming away.
"Emmy! You're being irrational!" Angelina called after her desperately. She sighed, irritated, and rolled her eyes.
"What's got her knickers in a twist?" asked one of the Weasley twins. The brothers were joined by Lee Jordan.
"Don't ask," pleaded Angelina impatiently.
"We won't," said George. "We were just wondering if you wanted to join us on a walk around the grounds?"
Angelina bit her lip. On one hand, she should go after her best friend. On the other, she knew for a fact the blonde would be in a mood for a good while before she wanted to talk again. Angelina nodded and followed the trio of boys out of the castle.

Hours later, the quartet stumbled into the Gryffindor common room. Their laughter filled the bustling room. Angelina spotted Emmeline, sat on the slouching crimson couch brading Daisy's hair.
"Hello my love," she spoke, sitting down next to her.
"And where have you been?" she snapped. Her eyes grew beady, closely resembling a hawk.
"I'm allowed to have more than one friend you know," she proclaimed with a laugh, playfully elbowing her.
"Hey you made me lose my place!" sighed Emmeline, dropping the long strands of Daisy's hair before swatting away Angelina's elbow.
"I was spending time with the twins and Lee," continued Angelina, a knowing look on her face.
"And?"
Angelina smirked. "Lee isn't as much of a dick as we thought."
"Don't use those words infront of small children," Emmeline reprimanded.
"I'm fourteen!" Daisy countered. "Now, tell us more about Lee!"
Angelina laughed at the youngest Walshaw sister's enthusiasm. "I'm sorry to disappoint but nothing's happening."
"Yet," added Emmeline with a smirk.
"I'm not saying anything," Angelina said, miming zipping her lips.
"Speak of the devil," murmured Emmeline, nodding towards Lee. Nervously, the dark skinned boy was swaying from side to side, shuffling his feet.
"Hi I was just wondering if-" He paused and turned to look at Fred and George for reassurance. They fulfilled his wish by nodding simultaneously. "You wanted to go study in the library with me?"
"Just us?" wondered Angelina, twirling a long stand of hair around her finger.
"Just us," he confirmed, his eyes flashing with nerves.
Angelina nodded. "Is that okay, Emmeline?"
"Of course," she answered with a grin. "At least I have my sister to spend time with me."
"Erm, actually I already said I'd go to see Professor Sprout with Neville," mumbled Daisy.
"So what am I supposed to do?" exclaimed Emmeline.
"Luckily, you have us," said Fred as him and George sat either side of Emmeline.
"Oh great, this is getting better and better," Emmeline said sarcastically.
"See you later," Angelina said as her and Lee exited the room.
"Yeah bye," Daisy said, following suit with Neville by her side.
Emmeline expected the following time spent with the Weasley twins to be awkward but it wasn't. They participated in a game of wizards chess. They were half way through a game of exploding snap before Angelina and Lee returned. By the smiles on their face Emmeline suspected they had spent little time revising.
"Excuse us but we need to have a girl talk," said Angelina, grabbing Emmeline's hand.
"Well maybe we need to have boy talk," countered George.
"You seemed cosy," Angelina commented as they headed up the spiral staircase up to their dorm.
"They're not as bad as I thought," Emmeline admitted. "Enough about me, come on. Spill!"
"We kissed."
"And?"
"Just kissed!"
"Nothing else?"
"Emmy! No! We just kissed and let me tell you, it was fantastic." Angelina flopped into her bed, her eyes glittered with awe. Angelina turned to face Emmeline. "I really hope you feel this feeling really soon."
