"Out of my way!" barked Veronica, pushing a first year into the Slytherin table.

"Is that Veronica, Vivienne and Velma coming in? I couldn't tell," scoffed Angelina sarcastically from the Gryffindor table.

"Who's that with them?" asked George, his attention focused on grabbing a slice of crisp golden toast, shimmering with a generous amount of butter.

"It's Emmeline!" gasped Fred, his mouth falling open and his eyes rounded with shock.

"What the hell is she wearing?" shrieked Angelina.

"That's my sister," mumbled Daisy. "It's finally happening, she's having an existential crisis."

"She doesn't fit in with them at all, she's just going to get hurt," spat Angelina darkly.

"I mean, her name doesn't even begin with V for a start," commented George.

Most of the great hall watched in shock as Emmeline sat next to Velma on the Slytherin table. Emmeline felt on top of the world. Everyone staring with awe and admiration. This is what it must be like to be popular and Emmeline could get used to it. Whispers followed her around like a shadow.

Woah who is that?

It was the new Emmeline. Angelina stormed over, pushing through the congested hall.

"What are you doing here?" Veronica inquired with a scowl.

"I'm here to speak to Emmeline," Angelina said hotly, sitting down on the other side of the blonde.

"Ten sickles please," Vivienne demanded.

Angelina spluttered. "What?!"

"You heard her," Veronica barked.

"I'm not paying to sit near you," Angelina said slowly, still shocked.

"Everyone else does," Veronica continued proudly with a shrug. "If you don't want to pay, then you can leave."

"Fine!" spat Angelina. She took one last look at Emmeline, begging her to shape up and follow her. She didn't and Angelina charged off muttering to herself. She almost bumped into Fred and George.

"She's a joke! An absolute joke!" seethed Angelina scathingly.

"She will see sense," Fred assured her.

"Not before they hurt her."

"There's nothing you can do," said George. "She's old enough to make her own decisions."

"She's easily influenced."

"Hey, it's a good job you have me and Fred otherwise you'd have no friends," George said.

"Don't flatter yourself." Angelina strode away, making sure to knock into both twins on her departure.

"Women," grumbled Fred, rolling his eyes.

Meanwhile, Emmeline was beyond pleased that Veronica wasn't making her pay to spend time with them. That must mean they really liked her, right? She was so caught up in her own thoughts she didn't even notice Cedric had approached them.

"Erm, Vivienne, can I talk to you at some point please?" he asked.

"I have a boyfriend," she gasped, edging away from the boy.

"Congratulations. Which section of the Potions group project should I do?"

"Oh. Well. You can do it all. I'm not doing it."

Cedric looked taken aback before his face resembled recognition. "Emmeline?"

"Hi."

"I didn't expect you to be here and look like...this."
