Emmeline searched and searched the entire castle for the Weasley twins.
She had asked Lee, before him and Angelina went off to 'study' together, but he said they had not left their dorm room all day. She was desperate to ask them something...something that had been bothering her ever since Cedric said the Weasley twins were funny.

Eventually, she spotted them exiting the Great Hall with two plates, piled high with a mountain of food.

"What are you doing?" she asked. She could tell they were up to something even though their freckled faces disguised their suspicious actions.

"We're having dinner," George answered.

Emmeline furrowed her brow in confusion. "'Why don't you just eat it in there?"

"We're very busy people at the minute," Fred told her.

"But I wanted to ask you something-" began Emmeline desperately.

George sighed. "It's going to have to wait." They left, returning to their dorms.

Emmeline was left feeling uncertain. She walked into the Great Hall, scanning the bustling hall for her sister to sit with.

"Hey, Emmeline," a voice made her jump. It was Cedric.

"Hi," she replied in a squeaky voice. She cleared her throat as her eyes danced with panic.

"You're not busy are you?"

Butterflies soared in Emmeline's stomach. Her heart pounded in her chest. "No."

"Great, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind helping me and some mates with Flitwick's homework? And maybe the Transfiguration homework?"

Emmeline grinned. "No problem." She followed Cedric to the Hufflepuff table. Whispers followed her like a shadow as she approached the table. Emmeline was pleased when she caught Veronica's piercing gaze and noticed her sour and perplexed expression.

Cedric rummaged through his bag and pulled out a insurmountable amount of parchment. He handed her the first, crumpled page.

"There's no rush, honestly," he said, smiling. "Just do what you can."

Emmeline wasn't gullible; she realised quickly that Cedric was expecting her to do all his homework for him. The eagerness to be sat with Cedric and his friends outweighed the mild annoyance she felt.

Sooner than she would've liked, it was time for Cedric to attend Quidditch practise. Although there was no games this year due to the tournament, Cedric still wanted to practise.

Emmeline took a deep breath. "Maybe we should meet later? And I could show you how to do the rest?"

Cedric nodded, strands of chocolate coloured hair falling across his face. "How about after dinner? We can go in the library."

Emmeline suppressed a smile. She didn't want the glee bubbling away on the inside to reflect on the outside. "See you then."

The boys dismounted the table and left the hall, leaving Emmeline looking giddy at the Hufflepuff table.

"Why are you sat at the Hufflepuff table looking like all your birthdays and christmases have came at once?" Angelina enquired in a puzzled tone when she eventually found her friend.

"I was talking to Cedric," she replied, trying her best to sound casual. She failed and began squealing and clapping her hand in excitement. Angelina joined in.

Hours later, Emmeline was pacing the floor of her dorm. Nausea was drowning her. What if she couldn't hold a conversation with Cedric? What if it was awkward? What if he was just using her to get his homework done? She took a deep breath.

"I can't do it," she decided suddenly. "I'm not going."

"What?" spluttered Angelina, looking as if she had just swallowed a fly.

"I'm too nervous," Emmeline admitted, her lip caught under her slightly crooked teeth.

Angelina rolled her eyes. "Omg babe! It's not even like it's a date, you're helping him study. It will be fine! If he didn't wanna spend time with you he wouldn't."

"I have no idea how to talk to boys," pouted Emmeline, flopping onto her bed with a tremendous sigh.

"Yes you do! You talk to the Weasley twins all the time."

Emmeline scoffed. "That's because they're the Weasley twins. They're Fred and George, not Cedric!"

"Fine! Don't go then! But this is your chance. You can't spend all your life in your shell. Nothing's going to happen while you're in your comfort zone."

Angelina was right. And that's exactly why she wanted to speak to Fred and George.

"Come on," urged Angelina. "Don't let Cedric down."

After careful consideration, Emmeline decided to meet Cedric. In the library, she sat at a round table close to the window.

"Emmy, you wanted to speak to us." It was Fred, George by his side.

"Oh, yeah, not now though," Emmeline said briskly.

"And why ever not?" George wondered.

"You two aren't the only busy ones." Emmeline nodded towards Cedric, who had appeared behind the red heads.

"I didn't know Fred and George were studying with us," Cedric said brightly, sitting down at the table.

"Oh no, they're not they were just going," Emmeline said.

"Yeah, we definetly aren't studying," said Fred before walking away.

To Emmeline's utter delight, the exchange that proceeded wasn't awkward at all.

It mainly consisted of Emmeline completing Cedric's work whilst he boasted about the tournament. She didn't mind in the slightest. She watched his brown eyes blossoming with enthusiasm, his stories growing more and more animated.

Sooner than the blonde would have liked, stars were beginning to freckle the inky black sky. Madame Pince was tidying around them, making it obvious she was nearly closing the library.

The two eventually took the hint and set off back to their dorms. Angelina was eagerly awaiting her friend's return, anxious to hear how it went. She could instantly feel the happy aroma oozing off Emmeline when she burst through the door.

"I think I'm in love," proclaimed Emmeline with a squeal. Ignorance was bliss.
