"ANGELINA!" yelled Emmeline. She spotted the dark skinned girl stumbling up the stairs with Fred, George and Katie.

Angelina turned on her heel. "What?"

"I want a word."

"You've already had one and it's a very loud Angelina."

"Now is not the time for joking! You've ruined my life! And Daisy's!"

"What's this? What's going on?" asked Fred.

"It has nothing to do with you!" snapped Emmeline.

"Alright!" Fred said hotly, holding his hands up.

"Actually no, I think everyone should know what you've done!" yelled Emmeline.

"Emmeline," Angelina said softly. "Come on, let's go to our dorm and talk about this."

"I'm not sharing a room with you!"

"You don't want everyone knowing about this," Angelina advised quietly.

"What's going on?" Daisy said. She had appeared behind Emmeline, Neville by her side.

"She's told McGonagall about our parents and now we're probably going to be sent to different ends of the country!" Emmeline shouted, pulling at her own hair in frustration.

"What?" Daisy's voice was small yet full of disbelief.

"I did it for your own good. I'm sorry. But I didn't think Emmeline was in a fit state-" began Angelina.

"A fit state?! That's up to me and Daisy to decide not you!"

"You care more about being popular than your own sister that's obvious! Do you think being Veronica's friend will end once the term's over? She will want you at every party. And where does that leave Daisy? On her own and it's not fair."

"I could handle it, I'm fifteen," said Daisy quietly.

"There's a reason it's illegal to live on your own under eighteen," Angelina pointed out, more calmly than her last statement.

"Can someone fill me in here? Emmeline, where are your parents?" Fred asked, his face clouded with concern.

"Dead! They're dead!" cried Emmeline. She collapsed onto the stairs, tears streaming down her face.

"What? What happened?" Fred gasped.

"They died ages ago. You-know-who. We've been living alone for years," Daisy filled him in, sitting next to her sister.

"Why didn't you tell anyone?" Fred wondered.

"We didn't want to be separated," Daisy said, her head on Emmeline's shoulder.

"I thought I could look after my sister better than some stranger!" spat Emmeline with a strangled cry.

"Do you see why I did it though?" Angelina said, her voice raising. "You've barely been talking to Daisy."

"I can't believe you've been living alone all this time," Fred spoke.

"It's fine, really, it was. Until now we're going to be whisked off and separated." Emmeline was glaring at Angelina, her eyes dancing with rage.

"I'm sure it won't come to you two being separated, I just think that you need some extra guidance," said Angelina.

"And who the hell said it was up to you to make that decision?" questioned Emmeline, getting to her feet and pointing a finger at Angelina.

"I was the only person who knew! Besides Neville but what was he going to do?!" Angelina shouted back. "No offence," she added.

"Non taken," said Neville, looking rather bewildered as he surveyed the heated argument.

"I trusted you! I trusted you with my life! I know we haven't been the best of friends lately but I didn't expect you to stoop this low!"

"I didn't do it for revenge!" Angelina breathed seathingly.

"Really? Because that's exactly what it looks like."

"How? How does any of this look like revenge? If I wanted revenge I'd cut up your clothes or snog Cedric, not get you and your sister taken away. I did what I thought was right."

"And who made it your decision?" Emmeline repeated hotly.

"Considering it was just me who knew I think it was my decision to make," argued Angelina.

"Girls, you're just going around in circles," Fred pointed out calmly. "How about we all go to bed and talk about this in the morning?"

"Yes, good idea Fred." Angelina nodded.

Emmeline folded her arms. "I'm staying here."

Angelina sighed, her hand rubbing her temples. "I'm going to bed, I'll speak to you in the morning. I'm sorry." Her hand reached out and patted Daisy's shoulder as she ascended the stairs. Daisy didn't respond but nodded.

"I'm going to bed too, Em, I'm exhausted," Daisy whispered.

"I won't let them take you away," Emmeline promised, rubbing her eyes.

"I know," Daisy smiled before her and Neville left. Katie had disappeared long ago, deciding this wasn't her business. Emmeline began undoing her high heels.

"If you want alone time we can go," George said, indicating to his brother that they should leave with a nod towards the dorms.

"She can't be on her own," Fred replied anxiously. "She's drunk and upset-"

"I'm not drunk, just very betrayed. And confused. And hurt and I just want everything to just stop and go back to normal. My life's falling apart."

"You're life can't fall apart it you've never had it together," said Fred, sitting down next to her. She thrusted her high heels at him and sobbed into his shoulder. George was awkwardly stood a few steps up until he decided it was his turn for bed.

"Stop being philosophical and realise how bad this is. I've even forgotten that me and Cedric were going to have sex! Oh god, I bet he thinks I've stood him up."

"He will live."

Emmeline inhaled and shook her head. "This is such a mess."

"It will get easier."

"What are you doing here, Freddie?"

"Breathing. Blinking. Sitting. You know, the usual things."

Emmeline's eyes narrowed as she laughed through the tears. "You know what I mean. Here. Talking to me. You're giving me too many chances."

"You need a friend right now because, to put it frankly, you have none."

Emmeline's face contorted and Fred suspected she would scream at him. To his surprise, she laughed. "You're not wrong. I have no idea who I am anymore."

"You need to sleep."

"I'm not sharing a room with her!"

"Sleep on the sofa or something. Just as long as you get some rest."

"I don't think I can sleep everything's a mess."

"I'll sort it don't worry."

Emmeline shot the boy a sceptical look before snatching her heels off him.

"I liked those," pouted Fred.

"Tough shit."

"Merry Christmas Emmeline."

"Merry Christmas Fred."
