Chapter 12: brig

I sneaked through the halls and typed the code of door which was leading to the brig. I looked one more time around before I sneaked in and sprinted over to Sideswipe's cell. He laid on the ground, and I saw he was in recharge.

"Swipes?"

He jolted awake and looked confused around before his eyes landed on me. "Merope! Damn I'm so glad to see you!" He chirped. I giggled and sat down in front of the bars. "Did he hurt you?" I asked softly.

"Nah... just some things he did before but nothing serious though!" He simply said before he sat down against the wall. "I've never seen him cut you!" I admitted. "True... he only does that if we are alone or accidentally during training! Guess he was very pissed now!" He sighed while rubbing his helm.

"So... hows life going?" He asked with a weak smile. "It was boring today... now you're stuck in here!" I mumbled annoyed. Sideswipe grinned and transformed before he activated his holoform. He sat down in front of me and showed me some cards.

I smiled and he started to mix them "how do you think I feel!" He grumbled. I chuckled and grabbed the cards he gave me. "You're so bad with holding a poker face! I grinned as I saw his annoyed face.

He rolled his eyes "well... since you're stuck in here... you can start!" I said. "How sweet!" He grumbled sarcastically while placing a card on the ground. I smirked and placed a better card on it. Be played until we both were done with it.

"hey! I've something new for you!" I said.

Sideswipe frowned as I showed him a small cube with colors. "What's that?" He asked while holding out his hand. I chuckled and gave it to him "what's the purpose of this?" He asked while mixing the colors.

"It's called a Rubix Cube, Rubik's cube is a puzzle in the shape of a cube with each side face in a different color, usually consisting of 3 rows of 3 blocks each. Each row of blocks can be rotated both horizontally and vertically," I explained.

"Ohhh" he said softly and cross-legged, trying to solve puzzle. It was cute to see him like this and it made my heart melt, he was so focused it's too adorable.

"How do you solve this?" He asked after a while. I hold out my hand and he gave it back to me. Wishing a few seconds I solved it. His eyes widened "how did you do that!?" He chirped in excitement.

I smirked "there are a few formulas which can help you solve this puzzle!" I simply said while throwing it up and catching it again. I gave it back to him and got up "What here! Don't leave!" I said. He gave me 'really" look and watched me leave.

It was late in the evening and I decided to stay with him. I stoped some stuff in front of the cell. He frowned "sleepover?" He chirped. I nodded and sat down on the blanket took with me.

"Look I've something for you!" I said, grabbing some Oreo milka. He cheered and grabbed the bars, giving Sideswipe to much sugar was bad, as in... really bad but he loved this so much. I gave it to him and he instantly started to eat.

"Hmmm! Damn I love you!" He chirped with his mouth full. I chuckled and grabbed something for myself "when did you get this? Sunstreaker took everything!" He said. "I convinced Dino to help me with getting this!" I said simple.

He snorted "I'm sure he wants something in return!" He growled. "Yup!" I grinned. I finally made myself comfortable and laid down while sides laid next to me on the other side of the bars, talking endlessly while fiddling with the cube I gave him.

"I'm glad you're here! I was dying from boredom," he growled. I grasped his hand and hold it tightly. "I spoke to Sam today... he wants me to join dinner tomorrow," I said. Sideswipe looked at me "I wanna join too!" He whined. "Maybe if you look sweetly at your twin..." I grinned. Sideswipe sighed "bee, Jazz are coming too! It's a sleepover!" I said.

"I wanna go too! But Sunstreaker will never let me out of this!" He whined sadly. "He said two days right?" I asked while eating from the chocolate. "Yes... but for you really think he will give me that fun after what I did?" He complained.

"Maybe I'll talk to optimus tomorrow!" I said. "Would be great!" He happily said before he laid down as well. I grabbed a pillow and pushed it through the bars. "For you!" I mumbled. I laid against the bars just like Sideswipe and stared at each other for a moment.

"I really wanna join... why did he invite you anyway?" He asked. "His parents are out of town for a week... and he was bored I guess!" I said.

"Sweet!" He grinned. I poked his nose softly "Don't you dare to make a mess Siders! Otherwise, I'll leave you here!" I sweetly told him. He smirked and grasped my hand "nothing heard from Mearing or Galloway?" He suddenly asked, sounding very worried.

"No... not yet it's a matter of time and we both know that Sideswipe, she will do everything so I have to go back to the battlefield," h mumbled. "I won't let her!" He said while closing his head. We soon enough fell in a deep sleep slumber.

I woke up from something walking over to me and rolled on my back, looking into Optimus optics. I sheepishly looked at him. "H-hi... I was just... leaving!" I innocently said. Sideswipe started to stir "Merope! Why so early!" He grumbled. "You have a guest!" I said while poking his hand. He looked up "prime... she was just leaving!" He said.

I rolled my eyes "I'm sorry Prime! I wanted to entertain him last night!" I said. "So it wasn't a sleepover?" He asked with a stern tune. Sideswipe replied for me "sleepover... she gave me a cube and played with cards! And she fell asleep strange enough!" He grinned.

Optimus gave me a stern look "Please Optimus... let him out! I wanna go to sam's place and Sideswipe wants to come too!" I said as I got up. Optimus did a step back "I swear he will behave!" I told him. optimus stared at Sideswipe for a moment "Please?" he asked, cocking his head to the side.

Optimus pinched the bridge of his nose "I swear I'll keep him in line... and if he does something wrong you can throw him back int he brig for... two weeks!" I stated. "yeah.... wait what?!" Sideswipe asked with a shocked expression.

"You can't just wake everyone up like that, Sideswipe... your brother had all the right to be mad and he wasn't the only one who was really pissed off!" Optimus said while crossing his arms. Sideswipe deactivated his holoform and transformed to be on eye level with him.

"I know... and I'm deeply sorry about that... but Sunstreaker already punished me for that!" he said. Optimus sighed "I'll let you out in the afternoon so you can go with Merope to the party! But don't pull this prank on us again, Sideswipe! This is the second time and next time... you will recharge permanently in the brig at nights!" Optimus stated sternly.

"Yes sir, I get it! It won't happen again!" Sideswipe said. "Good... Merope... clean up this mess and leave... this is still a punishment and not a reward for his bad behavior!" Optimus ordered me sternly. "Of course," I said while kneeling down. I saw Sideswipe knelt down and grabbed the Rubix cube as Optimus turned around. I snorted and picked everything up "See you this afternoon, stabby McWheelfeet!" I teased.

Sideswipe waved me goodbye while I sprinted after Optimus, he holds open the door for me and waited until he closed it and locked it behind him. "I am happy you and Sides are so close... but don't forget I need to punish him for his bad behavior... which means... you're not a punishment," Optimus said sternly.

"I know... it was just... you know the mech was so excited to go out with me after all those months... and in his excitement, he made the wrong decision but he isn't a bad mech... only playful!" I said. Optimus looked down at me "I know... he does have his sweet sides... but if I let him do whatever he wants to do... he makes a big mess and we can't have that... Sunstreaker made a point in that," Optimus said.

I nodded "Yeah... true!" I mumbled, I said my goodbye and stalked over to my room.
