A Twist Of Fate

Chapter 5

Forth was doing his grocery shopping when his phone rang.

He picked up the phone and saw it was Beam who's calling him.

Immediately his eyebrows furrowed.
He didn't understand why Beam was calling him.

He could clearly remember how strictly he had forbidden him from contacting him and his family.

Then why now!!!

But then the call got cut before he could possibly answer that.

He was about to ring him back when he again got another call from Beam.

He quickly answered the call.

"Come to my place tonight. 7:30 sharp. Don't worry, it's not for free. I'll pay you."
Beam didn't even bother to get any reply from Forth, he hung up.

Forth stood dumbfounded with his phone on his left ear.

He didn't understand anything.

Then suddenly something snapped in his mind and he was mad.

He called Beam back.
He waited for Beam to answer, which wasn't happening that easily.
But that didn't make any changes to his determination.

He wouldn't stop until Beam picks his call up.

He was really angry today.

Beam picked up at the fifth attempt.

"WHAT! What do you want now?" He barked angrily.

"What do I want???!!! You dare to ask that? What the hell do you think of yourself , huh? You're rich I get that. I needed money, so I worked for you. But the deal is over now. So you don't own me. DO YOU GET THAT??!!!!" Forth shouted equally angrily.
He was almost breathless.

"Wow!! Did I just shout at one of those billionaires in here??!" He thought.

On the other side of the call, Beam was silent.

He couldn't believe he just got shouted at..
That too by Forth.
That calm, reserved person just snapped at him.

But somehow he felt bad about how he actually acted towards that guy.

It's true, he just helped him for exchange of some money.

In fact when he was willingly giving him $25,000, Forth was the one who said he didn't need more than $15,000.

He talked after a brief moment of complete silence.

" Forth, I'm sorry for how I behaved today. Will you please come to my house, tonight, for dinner? Mom wants to meet you. " He said calmly.

" I'll come."

They both had nothing to talk about.
But they couldn't hung up on the call either.

Forth thought probably it was better before , when Beam would arrogantly cut the call.

It was awkward now.

Then Beam cleared his throat, " uhm.. so I'll see you in the evening..?" He asked, uncertainly.

"Yeah." Forth only could say that.

"I'm hanging up now." Beam politely said before disconnecting the call.

He was now in deep thought.

Evening came.
Beam was waiting for Forth to show up.

He was planning to give his mother a surprise.
