Jayson's POV
The next few weeks in Abu Dhabi were great. I got to try out new things, visit places I had never been to before, taste new food and get a new hair cut. It was amazing. I was enjoying my self at the beach when I received a distress phone call from Ruby...Xavier's girlfriend and also, one of Gabrielle's best friends.
"Hello Jayson" she said her voice a little shaky
"Hey Ruby. What's wrong? Why do you sound like that?" I asked
concerned
"It's Xavier. He's in the hospital."
"What? What happened?"
"He had an accident during one of his races. He's in the hospital now."
"Oh my god! Okay, I'll get on the next plane to Los Angeles and I should be back tomorrow. Don't worry, he'll get out of this alive."I said in an attempt to comfort her.
"Okay. Thanks." She said before she hung up
I rushed back to my hotel suite to pack my stuff. After packing, I gave my suite a last look before exiting the hotel. I got on a bus from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. I spent almost two hours thirty minutes. My poor legs fell asleep. On arriving Dubai, I took a cab to the airport and got there right on time. I almost missed my flight. When I got to the airport, I boarded my plane and in the next twenty minutes, the plane took off. It was a really long flight.
Immediately the aeroplane touched the run way of Los Angeles and the doors were open, I quickly came down and after clearing all my stuff, I got on a taxi straight to the hospital where Xavier was. Thank goodness for Ruby who had texted the name of the hospital to me. I walked speedily into the hospital and went straight to the receptionist. She had blonde hair and her white gown exposed a rather large amount of her cleavage. She looked very young. Probably in her early .twenties
"Good evening Miss."
"Good evening. How may I help you?" She said looking up from the files she was going through
"I'm looking for a Mr Xavier Sarder. He was admitted in this hospital "
"Uhhm..." She said not looking away from my face for a second
"Uhhm Miss, is any thing the matter?" I asked
"Uhh...no...it's just...you look so familiar. Wait, are you Jayson Sanders? The man who was..."
"Yes, I am Jayson Sanders, the man who was left at the altar by his wife. Now please tell me Mr Xavier's room. I need to see him. Now!" I said a little irritated
"O...o..of course sir. I'm sorry for the delay." She said looking through a book "Here it is. He is in room 406. He has some people visiting at the moment but you can go in."
"Thank you." I said quickly turning away to go look for Xavier's room. It was a really big hospital. After a long walk around, I finally found his room on the fourth floor. I opened the door and saw Xavier lying on the bed with his left leg and his right hand bandaged. I wanted to burst out laughing at him because of how ridiculous he looked but I knew Ruby wouldn't find it funny so I just kept mute. Ruby, Gabrielle and Ray were there probably keeping him company. As I walked in, all heads turned towards me and I saw how Gabrielle's face lit up
"Ayyy...my big bro's back " Gabrielle said bringing me into a tight embrace
"I missed you too little sis "
"How was Abu Dhabi? Did it do you any good?"Gabrielle asked
" Yeah, did you hook up with some Asian chicks "Xavier said
I guess even on the hospital bed, he will still be that playful boy I knew since we were little
" Uggh...perv "Ruby said giving him a little punch on the casted arm
" Ouch...babe!"Xavier wailed
"You guys are so cute together" Gabrielle said
"Yo Jayson. Nice to see you back bro " Ray said pulling me into a bro hug "I hope you were finally able to forget that...whore Emily " he said
"Hey! She's our friend you know?" Ruby said
"So, doesn't mean we should not say the truth " Ray said
"Yeah" Xavier and I supported
"You guys are so annoying. Anyway, did you hit it off with anyone?" Gabrielle asked nudging me in my stomach playfully
"Of course not. I barely stayed there for a month. How can I hit it off with somebody so soon" I said but for some reason, a very pretty long haired lady wearing a two piece suit came to mind
"Uggh. You are so boring." Ruby sighed
"Yeah dude. A whole three weeks is more than enough to at least hit it off with someone" Xavier said
"Whatever. But I had a nice time. Abu Dhabi is a really beautiful place"
"Yeah. It really is. I miss home " Xavier exhaled
"You live in Abu Dhabi?" I said surprisingly
"Yeah. My dad has a company there. Anyway, it's really beautiful and I see you got a new haircut. It suits you."
"Yeah, I was just about to say the same thing. The hair makes you look so lovely " Gabrielle said with a huge smile plastered on her face
"Thanks."
We continued talking and laughing at how ridiculous Xavier looked for a while. Surprisingly, Ruby was the first to jest about it. We laughed and talked until the creaking sound of the door caught our attention. We all turned our heads towards the door and in came someone I had become very familiar with. A person that will always get my attention. She was wearing a white long sleeved button up shirt tucked into a black corporate trouser with a black suit jacket draped over her shoulders and the look was topped off with a pair of black stiletto's and a white Versace handbag. Her wavy brunette hair was packed into a high ponytail as usual. Her make up was mild with her nude lipstick and her face depicted an aura of confidence and superiority as always.
"Karina, you made it!" Xavier exclaimed as his face lit up on seeing her
"You?" I said in disbelief looking at her
"Hello Mr Sanders. Fancy meeting you here." She said with her usual cocky smile
