Jayson's POV
She doesn't want anything to do with me anymore. My life is over! What What is was wrong with me? Why does love hate me? Why can't I just be happy? Why won't my exes let me be happy? First Rihanna, now Emily? Why? This is just unacceptable! I can't keep having this.
Time passed by and my life became miserable. Days felt like weeks, weeks felt like months and months felt like decades. Things were awful. I rehired Rihanna to take care of things at the office because I was absent a lot. I went to the office rarely. I just wanted to be alone. My sister Gabrielle came to see me severally while I was home. When I told her about what Emily did that caused me and Karina to split, she tried getting in contact with Emily but her husband Ethan said she had travelled. Weird! I stayed indoors and just lived a quiet life. My pals tried cheering me up at different occasions but it never worked.
Six months went by and I didn't hear a word from Karina. I sent her text messages, I called, but she never responded. It's like she just cut me out of her life and to be honest, I think I deserve it. There is no way to explain my reason for having sex with Emily and I don't have any proof to show that it was Emily who manipulated me into having sex with her. I became a sad and single man again. I hardly went to the office thank God for Rihanna...she really knows how to do her job. She and Matthew finally put aside their differences... Finally! I decided to go to the office because my dad said he needed to see me. I was happy because not many people knew about Karina and I so I wouldn't see any sad and pity eyes looking at me. Not even my dad knew
"Good morning Jayson. Good to see you here in the office." Rihanna said when she saw me
"Good morning Rihanna. Yeah, my dad said he has to see me so ,here I am"
"Sorry about you and Karina though. Breakup really is a bitch"
"It really is. But anyway, I'm trying to be tough"
Who told her about Karina and I?
"Goodluck doing that"
"Thank you...I guess. Anyway, if my father comes, I'll be in my office"
"Okay"
I went to my office and saw my table was free of documents. Rihanna really knows how to do her job. I waited for about an hour before my dad finally showed up.
"Jayson my boy. How are you doing?" My dad said sounding merry as always
"I'm good. You?"
"I'm doing very well."
"Great. And mom? I haven't heard from her in a while"
"Yeah, she's been busy with her agency. I think they are planning some sort of fashion show or something like that."
"Oh! Okay. So...why exactly did you want to see me?"
"Well... You know your mother and I's wedding anniversary is coming up"
"Yes, I do"
"Well, we want to throw a huge party to celebrate it. Thirty years of marriage really isn't a joke"
"That's great, but what do you want from me? You want to know what gift I'll give you guys?"
"What? Of course not! We want to have meetings with the party planning team so it can be very successful"
"Okay...that makes sense but isn't the party in like four months time?"
"Yes. Actually five months,but it's a really big party and a lot has to be done. Your mother said she wants you to pick the location of the party."
"Of course. Anything for my favourite couple" I winked at my dad
"Yeah right. Anyway, we are having a meeting here tomorrow with all the heads of each section of the planning team. You would have known earlier but for some reason, you were unavailable"
"Meeting already? Don't you think you guys are moving too fast. I mean there's still time."
"What don't you understand by your mother and I need things to be perfect. We want a grand event. Very classy and nice and to achieve that, proper preparation is required. Anyways, we are having a meeting with the head of catering, our event decorator, wine suppliers, music team..." Everything he was saying stopped registering in my head when I heard wine suppliers
"Sorry, did you say wine suppliers." I asked
"Yeah! The president of our wine suppliers, The Sarder wineries will be here tomorrow. In fact, she's already in Los Angeles. She came in yesterday."
"What? Really?" I said my heart already beating faster
"Yeah. She didn't want to come for some reason but after much persuasion, she agreed."
"That's amazing. So she'll be here tomorrow?"
"Yes, I already said yes. Why are you getting all excited?"my father asked
"No reason. I'm not getting excited at all. I'm just fine" I said with an awkward smile on my face.
Tomorrow, I get my chance to apologise and win Karina back. Hopefully she will want to see me. That night, I found falling asleep quite hard. The thought of seeing her again after six months was overwhelming. I need to find a way to prove that what happened was all part of Emily's plan to split us up. But how? I finally found sleep later in the night but the next morning, I was up very early. I put on a very body hugging grey turtle neck shirt which clung to my rock hard abs...if I do say so myself with a black two piece suit. My hair was kept in a messy way...which Karina found attractive and my suede shoes completed the whole look. The meeting was scheduled for twelve o'clock but by seven o'clock, I was already in the office practicing how I would confront her. By eleven o'clock, the people for the meeting had started arriving. The meeting was to be held in a room with a big round table at the middle. My dad, Rihanna, and all the other members had come but she hadn't. I was getting really nervous. By eleven fifty nine, the door opened and a familiar looking guy wearing a blue button up shirt and brown trousers walked in. His hair was dark brown and very curly. Clearly he was Asian...Raji. I recognised him as Raji, Karina's assistant meaning ...she had arrived!
"Where's Miss Sarder?" My dad asked politely
"She'll be here in a minute sir" Raji said taking his seat. By exactly twelve o'clock, the door to the room opened and I was speechless. She looked drop dead gorgeous. She wore a long sleeve white button up shirt with a blood red two piece suit. The trouser was not too fitted but it showed off her beautiful figure. Her shoes were the exact same colour as the suit and her white hand bag really complemented the look. Her small and soft lips were blood red as well and luscious waves were left down in all its wavy glory. She looked so beautiful and of course her make up was mild but chic.
"I hope I'm not late" she said with a very boss type of voice and a straight face
"Not at all. On the contrary, you are right on time. Please take your seat"
"Thank you" she said as she sat down
This is not going to be easy!
