Jayson's POV
She said she has an answer! She has an answer! Oh god! I hope it's a positive answer. I knew sending Gabrielle would work. I love you Gabby! After she sent the message, work became boring. All I wanted to do was run to where she was and find out what her answer is. She drives me insane. I never thought I would be able to get over Emily until she came along. Obviously, Emily still has a spot in my heart, but I have to get her out completely. I'm going to work till I get Karina to be mine. She's the one that can fix my already broken heart. I sent Gabrielle a message telling her to stall for a while because I had a little surprise for Karina. Hopefully it turns out the way I want it.
When the bell struck six o'clock, I quickly gathered my things and down to the garage I went. I hopped into my car and headed for the nearest florist's shop. I bought some roses and some loose rose petals. I also stopped to buy some candles. I really hope her answer is positive if not, I'm gonna look like a complete idiot. I got home and lucky me, she wasn't home yet. I quickly put the loose rose petals on the couch, the table and even on the floor. The candles were placed on the table, the floor and basically everywhere else into he living room. I sat down rethinking if what I was doing was not dumb and just before I could begin to remove all the things I had set up, the honk of Gabrielle's car horn was heard.
Well, I guess I'm doing this!
I turned off the light and quickly lit all the candles before sitting down on the couch full of rose petals to await her. The room looked nice if I do say so myself. The only source of light were the candles creating a romantic atmosphere. I was tensed up because I didn't even know the response she was going to give me and there I was sitting on rose petals in a candle lit room...stupid me! The door creaked open revealing a very shocked Karina. She looked so beautiful in her blue satin dress and her hair packed in a bun.
"Uhhm...what's going on here Jayson?" She said scanning the room
"Uhhm...nothing. I just wanted to create a nice mood" what? Nice mood? That's all I could say? This is terrible! I sound like a thirteen year old boy trying to ask a girl out.
"Nice mood? Really? So to have a nice mood, you cover the whole room with rose petals and candles?...interesting" she said with a little sarcastic tone
"Okay, just don't pay any attention to it." I said trying to change the topic
"How can I do that when it's everywhere?" She said obviously trying to stall
"Well, you can. But that's not what we want to talk about now" I saw
"Are you sure because I can talk about rose petals all night." She said still stalling
"Yeah, you can do that but that's not gonna help you avoid this discussion because we are gonna be together in this house till the end of the month. So let's save ourselves the time and go straight to the discussion." I said with a little smirk on my face
"Uhh...right. " she said taking a seat near me on the rose petal filled couch
"So..."I said
"So..." She said
Such awkwardness!
"Okay can you just give me your response. This is getting really awkward. And curiosity is killing me here. Do you or do you not..." I was interrupted
"Yes" she said in a very low tone
"What was that?" I asked not believing my ears
"I said yes Jayson. Yes, I do like you too. But that's all. It doesn't go beyond that. It's just a like. It's not like I love you or anything." She said really awkwardly. I wasn't used to seeing Karina so tense and shy...very weird! I kept quiet for a while because I was speechless
"Really? You've been asking me for what I feel and now that I tell you, you don't say anything?" she asked
"It's just, I always suspected it, but hearing you actually say it, is just really...Wow!" I said lost for words
"Really, now you can't even construct a sentence anymore? Uggh!" She said getting up to leave but I quickly grabbed her waist and pulled her to my lap before pressing my lips against hers. It was slow and sensual. It was like we were communicating without actually using words. Our lips enveloped each other, melting into each other. We moved at the same pace, just enjoying each other's taste. She tasted like mint and strawberry ice cream...probably what she took when they went out. Her lips were soft and tender, just how I liked it. My hands went to her back trying to pull her closer to myself while her hands were back in my hair messing it up but I liked it. When we finally separated, I saw her gently open her eyes. Her cheeks had turned apple red.
"You really need to stop doing that. You think you can just kiss me whenever you want. Geez!" She said
"What? You seem to like it too.I hope you now understand how crazy you drive me. " I said watching her cheeks become even redder
"So...now that we've told each other how we feel, what do we do now?"she asked
"There's only one thing to do?" I said
"Which is what?" She asked looking confused
Oh boy! There's no turning back now. I'm going to ask.
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
