REMEDY

Chapter Thirteen

Jayson's POV

I felt bad about taking her earphones, so I laid it on the table in the living room for her to see with a little note. I wrote the words "Love ya" at the end of the note. I don't know why I wrote that. It's not like I love her... Or do I? Of course not. I wrote it just because. I had my bath and got dressed before taking off for the office. I stayed in the office till about three in the afternoon until when I got a call from Xavier telling me to come over.

I left the office and went straight to the hospital.

"Hey man. What's up?" Xavier said

"I'm good. You?"

"I'm alright. Just waiting for the day I get out of this place."

"Sorry man."

"It's alright. So, how's Karina?"

The sound of her name made me smile a little

"Uhhm...she's okay."

"Cool. So, how are you guys celebrating today?"

Celebrating??

"Celebrating what?" I asked confused

"What do you mean celebrating what? I mean Karina's birthday. It's today. You do know that right?"

Whaaat???

"Her b...bb...birthday?"

"Yeah. Didn't you know?"

"No! She didn't tell me"

"Oh...uhhm...this is awkward. Well, it's not too late, you can still wish her a happy birthday even though it's already almost evening." He said sarcastically

"Shut up. I have to go now. Time to make it up to her." I said getting up and exiting the room. I quickly dashed out of the hospital and drove straight to Xavier's house but she wasn't there. I decided to wait for her. I stayed in the living room for hours before finally I heard the door to house open. I quickly sat up straight and faced the door sipping on my glass of whiskey. I confronted her about the whole not telling me about her birthday thing and I ended up getting her to go on a date with me. I can't believe my manipulation worked.

After she left the living room to go get dressed, I too went to get ready. I took a quick shower and then put on a pair of fitted black jeans and a white turtle neck shirt which clung to my chest and abs like a second skin. I then topped it up with a long white jacket and white sneakers. I then went to the living room to wait for her. Five minutes later and her room door opened and the wonderful scent of lavender and roses filled my nostrils. I looked up and saw her looking like an angel dressed in yellow. She was wearing a yellow jumpsuit which had a floor length cape with a gold belt which highlighted her slim waist. Her wavy hair was packed in a neat bun on top of her head and her ears held two big gold hoop earrings. She wore gold stiletto's and a gold clutch purse. Her beautiful and delicate face was kept mild. She didn't apply lots of make up and her soft pink lips were covered with lip gloss making them look even more attractive.
