REMEDY

Chapter Seventeen

Karina's POV

We kissed! We actually kissed! It was insane. The way his lips moved with expertise on mine. His breath was minty and hot. I melted at his touch. His hand moved all around my back while my needy hands held onto his hair. It was nothing like any kisses I had had. We kissed with need and desire for each other. When we separated, my vision was blurry for a second. I was in shock but it was pleasurable shock but then I realised what had just happened.

"Jayson kissed me!"

I quickly grabbed my purse and dashed out of his office, down the hallway and into the elevator. I think I heard Matthew call after me but I didn't even bother to look back. All that was in my head was that I had to get away. I got into the elevator and headed for the ground floor. Immediately I got down, I headed straight for the entrance and out I went. I quickly got a taxi and went straight home. As I got home, I went into my room and locked the door before collapsing on my bed face down. My thoughts were all mixed up and the only image coming to my mind was a certain dirty blonde's lips slamming against mine and intertwining with mine.

"Shit! What's happening to me?" I screamed out

I stayed there thinking before slowly drifting asleep. I was awoken several hours later by soft knocks on my door and the sound of the door knob to my room twisting. I got up and was about to grab the nearest weapon to me which was probably my stiletto heels until...

"Karina. I know you're in there and I know you're awake. I can hear you moving" Jayson said with that sexy husky voice of his.

I wanted to respond but I decided to stay quiet. Hopefully he'll leave.

"Look,I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. It's just..." He took a deep breath and exhaled heavily "You drive me crazy. I don't know why you have such a great effect on me. I didn't want to rush you but we were so close to each other that I couldn't control myself. I'm sorry. I know you don't want to talk but we'll have to talk about this sometime because you responded to the kiss...meaning I was right...you do feel something too. Well, see you tomorrow. Goodnight." He said just before I heard the sound of the room door opposite mine slam shut

"He's gone" I thought to myself

This is unbearable! I know deep down,he's right. I do feel something for him but I don't want there to be anything. I know he said he doesn't feel anything for his ex anymore, but I don't believe. There's no way over a couple months he'll just get over someone he almost got married to...right?

I took a quick shower before going back to bed. I couldn't even go out to eat because I know he'll corner me. The next morning, I was up by six because I became too hungry. I took a bath and changed into a simple blue satin gown and packed my hair into a messy bun. When I heard Jayson's car tyres leave, I practically ran out to get something to eat. When I got to the kitchen, I saw a tray containing twelve freshly baked red velvet cupcakes with letters written on each of them. It spelt

"I AM VERY SORRY"

Seeing this made me blush. Knowing that he woke up early just to bake these was so cute. I picked one up and it was very delicious and moist. I didn't even realise I had eaten eight of it when a message entered my phone.

"Hey girl! Get ready, I'm coming over. We're going outtt!" Gabrielle sent

I simply put on a pair of earrings and wore my white sneakers. I waited for hours before she finally arrived. I guess i woke too early. She arrived putting on a black pair of baggy shorts and a long sleeve black shirt. Her wavy blonde hair was left down and she wore red sneakers.

"Heyy girl. Cute outfit." She chirped when she saw me.

"Thanks. I love yours as well. Totally adorable."

"Thanks. Well since you're ready, let's go"

"Where exactly are we going?"

"We going out for lunch"

"Cool"

We got into her car and she took us to a place called "Winnie's". It was a very nice place painted with warm colours. We got a table and ordered our food

" So, do you know why I actually brought you here? "She asked and a feeling inside of me told me it was because of Jayson

" I knew there was a reason for this outing. I just knew it! So what's this about?"

"Jayson" she said

I knew it!

"What about Jayson?"

"He called me and told me...you know...everything"

"What's everything"

"Well, for example, I know you kissed yesterday"

Well this is awkward!

"Oh my gosh!" I exhaled

"Look, I know my brother likes you. That's the whole reason why he moved in to Xavier's house with you. I was the one who told him to give it a chance and that's what he is doing. And deep down, I know you feel something for him too."

"Excuse me!" I tried to protest

"Oh please! I saw the way your eyes lit up when you saw him in the hospital the day you came. I don't know why you are fighting this. You want this,he wants this, let not happen. You know I'm right"

I wanted to deny but there was no point

"You're right. Since the day I saw him in Abu Dhabi, I was mesmerized by him, his voice, his hair his face,his body...Gosh his body!"

"Okay, eew! That's my brother. Come on now"

"I'm sorry." I chuckled

"So now that we have established the fact that you both like each other, send him a message"

"What?"

"Send him a message now and you two can talk" she insisted

"Uhhm...okay" I whipped out my phone and texted him

Why am I agreeing to this? It's like she has some spell on me or something?

                       "Uhhm...hey! This is really awkward but here goes nothing. I have a response to what you told me on my birthday. We need to talk about this one on one. I guess I'll see you tonight. I'm out with Gabrielle...well I'm sure you knew that since you were the  one who sent her. See you later" I sent

In less than two minutes, he responded

"I'll see you tonight love"

I practically turned pink all over when I saw the word love. This guy makes me feel like a child again!

This night is gonna be memorable!
