Jayson's POV
Since I told Karina that I liked her, she has been a little nervous whenever she was around me and being nervous is not one of the characteristics of the Karina I know. When I woke up the next morning after her birthday, she wasn't up. I knocked on her room door but she didn't open. Lucky me, the door wasn't locked. I pushed open the door and walked to her bed. She looked so beautiful when sleeping. Her perfectly pink lips looked so perfect and dry. Her tussled hair and her big gown made her look like a young girl again. I quickly whipped out my phone and took a few pictures before heading to work. On my way to work, I ordered a breakfast tray from one of those E-Bistro's and directed them to where to put the tray. I wrote little note and placed it on the table in the kitchen so they could see it and attach it to the tray. Karina drives me wild...and not sexually. I've fallen hard for her. I want to be close to her all the time. I want to feel her. I want to love her...but I can't if she won't let me.
When I got to work, I went straight to my office and began to work. It was a really hectic day but somehow, I had more than enough time to think about Karina. When I was less busy, I sent a her message. I was dying to see her. I was so happy when she replied she was gonna come.
"Matthew..."I called my assistant
" Yes Mr Sanders?"
"Please kindly make a reservation for two in a classy restaurant. Anyone except Grave's."
"Oh...I totally understand sir. Not to be nosy, but is there a new lady?"
"Maybe" I winked
"Finally. I'll go make those reservations right away" he said leaving the office.
Almost an hour later, I went downstairs to the reception area and there she was. She looked like a bad ass in that black combat jacket and black jeans. My receptionist was obviously asking to know if she had an appointment so I intervened.
"She doesn't need an appointment. I'm the one who asked to see her" I said
"Of course sir. I'm so sorry miss. You can go in"
"Uhh...th...thank you" she stuttered which was weird
"Right this way Miss Foxwell Sarder" I said giving her a little smirk
She followed me into the elevator and we went to my office floor. She was quiet through out the elevator ride...probably because it was just the two of us. When we got to my office floor, I could see the sparkle in Matthew's eyes. He likes playing cupid.
"Matthew, I want you to meet someone. This is Miss Karina Foxwell Sarder. The President of Sarder Wineries."
"Oh! Nice to finally meet you. I have to say, you look way better in person than I had imagined."
"Thank you very much. Same here. You are more charming than I thought."
"Thank you"
"Well, if you guys are done, I have some important things to discuss with Miss Karina here so if you'd excuse us " I said pulling Karina gently away from Matthew and into my office. When we were both in, I locked the door behind us.
"Why are you locking the door?" She asked uncomfortably as she sat down
"Nothing just privacy purposes. Why? You think I wanna rape you?"
"Well, who knows right?"
"Ouch girl! You breaking my heart" I said imitating a heart break with my hands
"You're crazy" she laughed
"Yeah...yeah I am. I'm crazy about you."
Immediately, I saw her tense up. She froze and just sat there staring at me. I got up from my seat and went over to her.
"Look Karina, I don't want to rush you into anything but I won't lie to you. I'm crazy about you. I don't know how it happened, but it did. You drive me crazy...and I mean that in a good way."
"Look Jayson... Please stop saying things like this" she said
"Why? Why should I Karina? Don't you believe me?"
"I...I...I don't know Jayson. Please let's not talk about this again"
"I'm sorry Karina but that won't be possible. Every time I'm with you,I feel happy. I just want to be with you, to enjoy your company, to cuddle with you but I can't. I need you to tell me Karina. I know deep down you feel the same " I said going closer to her "I know you feel something for me too. I've seen the way you get when I'm close to you. The way you tense up when I touch you" I said coming very close to her ear. My breath touched her skin and goosebumps appeared in that area. Clearly she was affected by me
"I...I ...d...dd... don't know what you're talking about Jayson" she stuttered
"See! That's what I'm talking about. You never stutter. Don't fight this Karina. You want this as much as I do" I said placing my right hand on her left cheek. I felt her body still under my touch. She tried removing my hand but I didn't let her
"J...Jayson stop this" she said almost begging
"Don't fight it Karry...don't" I said as I pressed my lips against hers. It was like kissing an angel. Her pink lips were softer than I had imagined. At first she didn't respond but soon enough she did. It was magical. Our lips intertwined with each other as if they were meant for one another. We kissed with desire and passion. We both wanted it. Her hand went to my hair and grabbed unto it while my left hand travelled all around her back. It was nothing like my other kisses. We kissed with much intensity and fervour. By the time we separated, we were both gasping for air. Her cheeks were rose red and she looked flushed. I saw the look of satisfaction in her eyes but it was gone in a second replaced by horror.
"Karina...that was..." I couldn't finish my statement because she quickly grabbed her purse and ran out of the office leaving me to replay this moment over and over in my head.
What just happened?
