Karina's POV
"Karina. Karina...wake up." I heard a faint voice say "KARINA!!!" The voice got louder making me jerk awake. I tried opening my eyes but the light was too bright
"Fuck! Who brought the sun to earth?" I said putting my hands up to block "the sun"
"It's not the sun dear, it's just a light bulb" my sister Kim said sipping on a cup of coffee still wearing her pale pink sweater dress
"Well turn it off
" No! Open your eyes. The faster you do it the better" I took her advice and opened my eyes. The light was really bright but I adjusted to it
"Fuck! Last night was crazy. I have a splitting headache. Do you have some pain relievers I can take?"
"Sure. They are in the cupboard but you can only take them after getting some thing to eat. Coffee?" She said offering me a cup of coffee
"Thank you" I said accepting it "So, if you drank as much as I did, why aren't you complaining about headaches and stuff" I said and she gave a short laugh
"Girl, I work for a crime fighting agency. I go undercover a lot and most of the time, going undercover leads to drinking a lot. My body has gotten accustomed to it. Yours hasn't. Your body is more used to stuff like Martinis and Cocktails" she said
"Fuck you!" I said and she laughed
"Well, when you're done with the coffee, take two of those pain relievers. They work magic. Meanwhile, I'm going to get ready for work" she said stepping out of the bar and shutting the door closed. I took the coffee and took the pain relievers before lying back down on the couch there. I picked up my phone and saw missed calls from Gabrielle, Xavier ,Ruby, Merida and....Jayson. Such a jerk! Still has the guts to call me. Such a prick head! I put down my phone and closed my eyes trying to get a little sleep before Kim would leave for the office. Some minutes later, the bar door opened and in came a wonderful scent of citrus and lavender. I never knew those two would make such a nice combo. I looked up at my sister and I realised... Damn! I've got a hot sister! She was wearing a stylish grey v-neck sweater with a corporate pair of grey trousers. Her curly hair was packed in a neat bun on her head which made her big silver hoop earrings look even better. She held a white Louis Vuitton bag which went well with her white ankle high stiletto heeled boots. She wore two silver rings on each hand which complemented her silver helix piercing earring. Her make up was simple but her dark red lips just made her look smoking hot
"Wow! I am definitely stealing that sweater." I said
"You wish! Well I'm off to work. If you need anything just call me and I'll be here ready to protect you"
"Yeah yeah. You can go"
"You sure? I can stay if you want"
"No...go and catch that culprit disturbing world peace"
"Okay then,see you later. Bye!"
When Kim left, I went to my room and took a long bath. I filled the tub with soap and I stayed in there for a long time trying to wash away my sadness and heartbreak, but it didn't work. I washed the soap off and dried off before changing into a my black joggers and a white sleeveless top. My hair was packed up in a messy bun and I had no make up on. I went to the living room to watch some television when I saw my phone ringing... Jayson! I hung up severally but he just kept on calling. Since I knew he wouldn't stop, I decided to pick up.
"What do you want?" I said with rage and bitterness attached to every word
"I'm sorry Karina."
Oh! So he knew I saw him. How nice!
"For?"
"I know you saw what... I mean I know you witnes...I mean I know you must have seen... Look! I don't know how to say this without it sounding weird"
"Oh! Let me help you out. Yes! I saw you fucking your ex at a wedding reception when you were meant to be resting"
"Look it's not what it looked like"
"Really?! Then what was it if it wasn't what it looked like? Because I clearly saw you ramming into her with your dick"
"Well it was what it looked like, but it's not what it was. Yes I did have sex with her, but I didn't do it willingly"
"What? Do you think I'm a fool."
"No I don't. The thing is yes, I did have sex with her but i didnt want it."
What? Did she get your thing erect and put it into her own thing? I'm sure that's not what happened. Look, don't try lying to me right now. You sound pathetic. I get it, you never got over her. It's fine. Be happy with her"
"You know it's you I love. Please listen to me. She drugged me."
"Yeah right. Please don't lie to me anymore. Goodbye Jayson. I wish you a happy life"
"Karina, baby! Please stop this. I'm outside your house right now. Please come out. I want to see you"
"What? You're in Abu Dhabi?" I asked shocked
"Yes baby! I came to get you"
"Well sorry, but I'm not home. Goodbye Jayson Sanders. Have a nice life with Emily White.
" No sto..."I hung up
I collapsed into the chair and despite how hard I fought it, the tears just kept streaming out.
I hate him! But I love him! Why is love so difficult ?
I tried stopping the tears but I just couldn't. A part of me wanted to run to my house and just run into his arms and taste those manly lips again but the other part wouldn't let me do it. I have to forget about him. I have to forget about the man I love.
