Chapter Twenty Eight

Karina's POV

Me and Jayson got back together and things were amazing. I stayed in Los Angeles for another two weeks after concluding the meetings. We went out, sometimes I would go to his house and we would have a movie night. Things were amazing. I had to travel back to Abu Dhabi to begin to prepare for Mr Sanders' anniversary but we video called each other every night. I looked forward to it every night and he never failed. He would call and we would talk for a while before going to bed. I loved him. I had fallen deeply in love with Jayson Sanders and there was no one in the world that could separate us. Our love was too strong. Despite us being far apart, our love kept growing. The distance between us made our love grow even stronger. I realised that I loved him and he was the man of my dreams...the man I wanted to marry...the man who I wanted to be the father of my children...it was all him.

As the date of the anniversary drew closer, the tension grew. It was a really big party and my company had a really big order. I became extra busy trying to make sure the wine needed for that day was ready in time. Five months passed and the date finally came. Thank God, I was able to get the order ready. I had travelled to Los Angeles two days before the event with my assistant Raji. We booked a room in the hotel we had stayed the last time we came. That day, I was nervous as hell. I didn't know why but I was. Probably because it was the first time I was going to be introduced officially as Jayson's girlfriend to his parents and brother even though we had dated for almost six months already. His parents knew we were dating but we hadn't told them officially. The event was to take place in a very big aquarium. I didn't know why Jayson chose that place. Sure, the building had a very huge ball room that could host about five hundred guests but still...there were other places he could have chosen. But anyway, I guess he knew what he was doing. The event was to begin at seven o'clock but by seven o'clock, I was still jamming to "Money"by Leikeli47 in the shower. I got out of the shower and dried off before applying my make up. Of course my make was not too much but for a pop of colour,I applied a blood red colour lipstick on my lips. My dark brown hair was packed into a neat chignon and I put on my big and beautiful sleeveless quinceanera gown which had floral designs on it. It was a really beautiful gown and I had picked it out myself. I put on a simple gold chain because of my bare neck and I held a blood red clutch purse which went fantastically with my blood red six inch stiletto heels. My earrings were dangling and I looked good if I do say myself.

I got into an uber with Matthew which took us to the event. It was really beautiful. It reminded me of the met gala. There were so many photographers yelling to take pictures of people and there was a rather long stair case leading to the building. As you climbed the stairs, photographs would be taken. I got nervous but I had to get down from the car. Immediately I got down, flashes from cameras began to affect my eyes. I posed for the cameras and faked a lot of smiles before finally climbing up the stairs and into the building. When I got into the building, I had to walk down a long passage on a red carpet before reaching a big brown door. I inhaled deeply before pushing the door open. I saw all heads turn and all of a sudden the whole place went silent. There was another flight of stairs leading down to the ball room so it was really weird. People kept staring as I slowly walked down the stairs. I tried avoiding faces but when I rose my head, the first face I saw was Jayson's and I was happy I saw it. His mouth was left slightly open showing his shock... I guess I did look good. I walked up to him...
