Karina's POV
"Will you marry me Miss Karina Foxwell Sarder?"he asked
What?? I didn't see that coming! The hall was still dark and quiet. The only source of light from the water below us. Jayson was still on his knees waiting for my response. I could feel people's gazes on me. The cameras were going crazy flashing from every corner to have pictured for the next day's newspaper. This was not expected. I love him though and I know he will be a great husband
"Oh my god! Yes! Yes Jayson I will marry you" I said grinning from ear to ear out of happiness. Immediately I gave a response, the hall went crazy. People began clapping and cheering for us. He put the beautiful emerald ring on my finger and he for up drawing me in for a heart felt kiss. People kept on cheering for us as we kissed. I was so happy. How I wish I could see the look on Emily's face! The lights came on and I saw every one still cheering. I kept on smiling like a child as I looked around at everyone and then my eyes met Emily's. She was holding a champagne flute. She had a very evil face on and she kept on holding the champagne flute. She was holding it so tight that it broke right there in her hand. She stopped looking and left probably to clean up. I loved the fact that she was there to watch Jayson's proposal. All my friends came to congratulate us and so did his friends. I was then officially introduced to Jayson's parents. Apparently, they knew about the proposal and they were the ones who came him the permission to do it at their party. They were such lovely people just like their children. After thanking people for their congratulations, in was finally able to talk to Jayson alone
"Jayson, you are crazy. Why didn't you tell me about this?"I said
"Who tells their girlfriends that they are gonna propose?" He asked
"I didn't see it coming"
"That was the point love" he said as we locked arms
"I love you. I love you with all my heart" I said
"I know. That's why you accepted my proposal sweetie" he said and I chuckled
"I guess you are right. Anyway, I have to go freshen up. Be right back" I said separating our arms and heading for the ladies restroom. I got to the ladies restroom and quickly eased myself. I came out and began to touch up my make up and suddenly, the door which was behind me shut. I looked at it through the mirror and saw someone in a floor length gown standing there looking at me with murderous eyes
"Hello Karina" she said
"Emily..." I said still applying my make up and looking at the mirror
"Congratulations on your engagement"
"Thank you"
"Too bad the wedding is never going to happen though" she said
"Excuse me" I said turning swiftly to face her "was that a threat?" I asked with a very straight face
"No it wasn't. Just a fact"
"Listen, when are you going to realise that Jayson chose me not you. You are just a pathetic lady who is so desperate for a man that she goes as far as drugging him"
"No, you are wrong. He had sex with me that night because he wanted to"
"Bitch, I saw the camera footage. He was drugged. He even called you Karina and you went with it. You are just a pathetic how"
"Jayson and I are meant to be together. You are just an obstacle that I will find easy clearing out of my way"
"Is that so? Because last time I checked, I was the one wearing the expensive ass emerald engagement ring...not you bitch. So if you won't realise that Jayson wants me not you, maybe when you see on the news that our wedding was a bomb, that's when you will realise"
"Fuck you"
"Yeah yeah. Dumb ass. That's all you've got to say"
"You and Jayson will never be together not when I'm alive."
"Well, we'll just have to see about that. You don't scare me Emily. Not one bit. You've found your match Emily White. Have a good evening." I said grabbing my purse and walking out of the bathroom with a very confident face
Ha ha! That bitch doesn't know who she's messing with.
I went back to the ball room and saw Jayson.
"Hey. Why did you stay so long in there? I was getting worried. I was about to come find you"
"Really? In the girl's bathroom?"
"Yeah. I would go to the end of the world if it means I would get to see you my love"
"Geez! So cheesy" I said
"Seriously what kept you so long?"
"Oh, nothing important. Don't worry yourself."
"Okay, if you say so."
We said goodbye to people heading out and we got more congratulations from more people. The photographers took our pictures and I was pretty sure my face was gonna appear on a lot of magazine covers...can't wait! My friends left with their men and they all congratulated us. When Emily was leaving, she stopped in front of Jayson
"Congratulations to the both of you" she said
"Yeah congratulations." Her husband Ethan White said
"Thank you so much" Jayson said
"I wish you two eternal happiness" Emily said with a creepy smile on her face. Even though what she said was a sort of prayer, she made it sound like a threat
"Thank you. Goodbye" I said wrapping my arm around Jayson and hugging him tight as if I was claiming him...yup! No one is gonna take my man! As they were about going, Rihanna also came
"Congratulations you two. Though you may not believe me, but I am really happy for the both of you."
"Thank you Rihanna" I said and Jayson nodded. She turned to go and she and Ethan's eyes met. It was like they had some sort of history together because the way they looked at each other, it wasn't normal for two friends
"Ethan" she said
"Rihanna" he replied
"Well Uhh...goodbye " she said quickly walking away. Everyone left, leaving just me and Jayson. Even the couple of the day left. Jayson was gonna take me home. I would have gone with Raji, but he already left. When we got to his car, we sat and stared at each other for some seconds before we kissed...just a simple and short kiss. It was like we just couldn't stop ourselves. We had fallen deep in love with each other. After the kiss, we separated and then he said
"So, time to start planning our wedding"
