Don't love me

I'm not good for you,
Not in the sense that I'd hurt you,
If I did, at least unintentionally,
But in the sense I'll never reciprocate your feelings.

Don't love me,
I say to you,
I'm not the sort of person who deserves love,
You're wasting your time.

And I'll watch you wither away,
Each hour of you loving me,
Each hour of you waiting for me,
To say those three words.

I'll watch you,
Hours and hours,
Years and years,
Getting worn down and giving up.

And one day,
You'll go,
You'll leave for someone better,
And I'll watch it all unfold in front of my eyes.

And after you've left me,
I'll never say the words you waited for,
But every time I'll think of you,
I'll think of how beautiful you were.

I already miss you.
