Take hold of your hand

If you'd let me take hold of your hand,
I think you'd be my guiding light,
Helping me through the dark,
And staying by my side.

Or maybe, you'd be my anchor,
Keeping me from floating away,
From all the ominous creatures,
That lurk inside my brain.

Or perhaps, you'd be my saviour,
Pulling me from the darkest shadows,
Of the depths of the deepest waters,
And into the clearest shallows.

Maybe you'd be my hero,
Pushing me out of the way,
From the oncoming attackers,
Saving, once again, the day.

If you'd let me take hold of your hand,
I would try and do the same,
Help you through your darkest days,
And call you by your name.

If you'd let me take hold of your hand,
Even if I was dying,
I'd help you up and wipe your tears,
And tell you to stop crying.

Because even when I won't be there,
Because I won't be around forever,
I'll somehow find my way to you,
And hold your hand forever.
