A Poem On The Corona Virus

As I walk through the hospital,
I'm met with a sense of grief,
Clean floors, white sheets,
Screams hidden behind gritted teeth.

A memory of someone else- glimmering tears,
An illusion of what used to be,
Deathly silent halls with blood ridden floors,
Drowning in a sea of misery and hospital IVs.

There are no signs of the fallen-
Apart from the bereaved,
And their tears of blood and pain,
Running down their cheeks.

They say blood runs thicker,
Than water does,
Yet I'm surrounded,
In an ocean of grief.

I hope that everyone's staying safe and that you're all okay. Don't forget to wash your hands for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer that's at least 60% alcohol. There's a lot of advice online for how to wash your hands correctly and if any of you are feeling bored, the Rijks Museum and Sistine Chapel (the Vatican) have online tours so you can visit museums virtually. If anyone wants to learn another language, you can use Duolingo (this is what I personally use - they even have Klingon!) and now is a great time to catch up on new shows. There's a lot of fitness routines online as well and as someone who sometimes forgets to be active, these can really help. There's lots of free books on Audible too (like Jane Eyre, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, A Grief Observed and Library Of Souls) and lots of books in several different languages.
Thank you so much for reading! <3
