Somewhere Inbetween

A/N: I haven't published a poem in two weeks and a half weeks, so I feel like I need to formally apologise. My head's a little all over the place so whenever I start writing a poem I end up giving up or changing the theme midway. Sorry about that. On a happier note, thanks for the 3K reads! Xx

Sometimes,
All I can do is wonder,
Until I'm lost inbetween,
Pulled apart at the seams-
Somewhere between the present,
And the future.

And I'll watch the world,
Spin around,
Watching others live their lives,
Pretending to be somebody I'm not,
Imagining all the things I could be,
And all the things I could see.

Until I lose who I am,
And I lose everyone else,
Getting lost in the future,
But being stuck in the past,
Barely abled to last,
Somewhere inbetween.

I'll imagine,
Because it's all I have,
Pretending I've done everything-
Differently than I actually have,
And I'll be so lost in the future,
Until I'll be claimed by the past.

"You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present."
