Your Last Lover

I'll watch on as you'll kiss me,
There but not really,
And I'll hear you whisper in my ear,
"You'll never be enough for me".

And maybe that's as good as it gets,
Maybe that's all I'll ever be,
Kissing someone who'll never,
Be a part of my reality.

An unrequited lover,
For my heartbroken soul,
And I'll let you fufil your role,
Of breaking anything you can control.

Because you can control me,
Still I'll forever love you,
Though we'll only know each other,
When the sky's no longer blue.

Because that's what I get,
After falling too soon,
And chasing after you,
Is like the sun with the moon.

Blame it on the alcohol,
You always do,
Finding anything to fill the hole,
Of what your last lover made of you.

So we can play pretend,
And I'll chase after you,
Though you'll never love me,
And we'll never make it through,
But how can we,
When the sky's always blue.
