It was Friday - Thomas had been visiting the Drama Club all week. He had met everyone, learnt what everyone was doing and knew exactly what he would do.
His mind flickered to Virgil. The anxious boy had seemed piled with tasks: Costume design, lights, sounds, props, prop design, set design and song composing for any musicals. Most of the time, he seemed fine to do these jobs. He had set he didn't trust anyone else to, in case they messed it up.
Thomas cracked a small smile. He knew exactly what he would do, he thought to himself again as Roman led him through the halls. His friend swung open the door to the Drama Club, singing a new song. "'Cause everything about us is going to be wonderful!" He cried dramatically, to the adoring praise. Roman really had the whole drama club wrapped around his finger.
Thomas walked into the room absently, hands in his pockets. He walked onto the stage and cleared his throat. Everyone looked up, falling silent. This is what they'd been waiting for. They'd all become very good friends with Thomas, and now he could be staying or leaving. Before he could even say anything Patton appeared. "So are you joining or not?"
"I..." Thomas swallowed nervously, feeling scared. Breathing out slowly, he watched the room tense. Roman looked alarmed, Patton looked terrified, Logan seemed almost anxious and Virgil was quivering with nerves. "I decided to... Oh, god, Uhm..."
Valerie, a young actress, who was a year below him asked, "You're not leaving, are you?"
"I- I-" His face broke into a big smile quickly. "I am staying, completely joining, mhm, yep! 100%, no refunds or returns!" The loud cheer erupted instantly before he had even finished speaking. Patton looked ready to cry with joy as he bounded onto the stage.
"You tricked me!" He squealed as he hugged Thomas tightly.
"What will you do? That was some Grade A acting, right there!" Roman said, coming up behind Thomas.
"Yeah, because exactly what this Club needs is more actors to moan about every design I come up with that doesn't make them look like a Disney Prince." Virgil muttered sarcastically, trying to hide his smile as he appeared on Thomas's' other side.
Logan rolled his eyes, walking onto the stage. "Honestly, Virgil. The main reason people come to see a show is for the actors. Thomas would be stupid not to pick acting-"
"I'm going to be a set designer and prop designer! To take some chores off of Virgil's' back!" Thomas beamed at the small emo, who went kind of pink.
He looked away, embarrassed. "Yeah, w-well, you don't have to-"
"Nonsense! It's my first year and I'd rather see how they run things from backstage than on stage!"
Virgil smirked. "Okay, if you're sure! Welcome to the Drama Club - jeez, you might end up a bigger nerd then Princey!"
