Evan sighed as he watched the boy he'd raised and his friend walk away from him. The other child, Roman, shot him an apologetic glance but the two soon disappeared up the stairs.

A hand on his shoulder and Evan knew his ex-husband was there. "Virgil will get over it, Evan. You just need to give him a little more time, he's only just turned fifteen."

"I wish he didn't hate me, Emile. I know what I did was wrong but I didn't want to cut you two out of my life." Evan complained. He let out another, sympathy gaining sigh. "I don't know how many times he wants me to say sorry..."

Emile shrugged. "It'll take him a while. I haven't been particularly hard on him, so he's kind of used to getting what he wants when it comes to me."

"And that Roman boy,  by the looks of it. One glance from Virgil and he backs down instantly."

"Stormcloud can be surprisingly bossy..." Emile smiled at where his son had stood on the stairs, fondly gazing into his own memories of raising the boy. "He gets it from you!"

Evan gasped. "Emile! I'm surprised! How could you say that to me?"

Emile laughed airily. "Honestly, Evan, you know you've been bossy since day one!"

The businessman stopped chuckling slowly, before taking hold of his ex-husbands' chin. Emile's' eyes widened, locking with Evans' in surprise. Evan smiled down at him, tilting the mans' face to the side slightly as he pushed the gap between them away. Now with confidence that Emile would be too stunned to react, Evan leaned in closer, preparing for their lips to meet when he heard a voice say, "Roman, we're going."

Virgil stood on the steps, his expression thunderous and a drawstring bag slung over his shoulder, bulging at odd angles. His friend, Roman, hid nervously behind him, keeping his gaze trained on Virgil's' lower back.

"Y-Yep, sure..." He whispered, with an oddly flushed face. Virgil pushed his way through the two men, scowl worn furiously.

"Don't let me interrupt anything!" He snapped, setting down the bag as he quickly laced up a pair of simple, black DocMartins. "I'd hate that nearly as much as Evan!" Emile began to speak but Virgil had already thrown open the door. "C'mon, princey, we'll go to your place."

"Yes, Virgil, coming!" Roman replied, quickly making his way to the emo's' side.

Virgil fixed his infuriated gaze on his father and Evan. "Please, pretend I was never here." And the two teens left the house, slamming the door shut.

Evan waited a minute before cupping Emile's' cheek. "Babe, I'm so sorry-"

"B-Babe?!" Spluttered his ex-husband, frowning quickly as pushed away. "Are you serious?"

"Ye-es?" Evan furrowed his brow together, trying to catch Emile's' chin in his hand again. "What are you upset about?"

Emile backed away again. "I'm not looking to get back with you!"

Evan blinked slowly and frowned. "You're not?"

"No!" Cried Emile, still visibly stunned. "I thought we were gonna make up, but not get back together! That would kill Virgil, and we've gotten on fine without you, just like he said."

"Em, you're just stressed, it's okay, calm down-"

Emile glared crossly. "I'm not going to calm down when you've waltzed back in here, thinking with your dick! Get out of my house!"

"Em, listen-!"

"Out." Emile growled. "Now."
