When Thomas entered his homeroom on Monday, he saw Roman and Virgil reading off their scripts to each other. Every now and then, someone would try to listen in, desperate to find out whatever play theatre group were putting on this year, but Virgil would notice them instantly and he'd shut Roman up with a swift kick.

Thomas sat on the desk, listening into the small rehearsal. They were both being very good and Roman rarely read off his script. Thomas could see the heavily highlighted instructions on Virgil's' script while Roman's' was kept neat and perfect. It was almost ironic, in some odd way that made no logical sense.

He smiled to himself as he watched his new friends, often shooing away people trying to eavesdrop. Mr Huggins entered the room and the three boys quickly scampered to face around. Thomas really hoped no one saw him literally fall into his seat.

Everyone was rehearsing on the stage today. It was all in small groups, tucked away in some gap. Roman, Virgil and Remus were the only group that had sat down and instantly started to recite their lines as they had at Roman's' house. The rest of the groups were gossiping and catching up.

Thomas wanted to sit with them but had been caught very quickly by Logan. "Thomas, you're not an actor, you can't go on stage unless invited by Remy. You have to go to the set work in Backroom 4."

Thomas nodded sulkily but scampered off obediently to Backroom 4. He was greeted warmly by his fellow set workers and joined Terrence and Joan. "Hey, guys!"

"Hey, Thomathy!" Joan smiled cheekily and Terrence just hugged him.

Giving Terrence a brief hug in return before pushing the other off him, Thomas looked at the large A3 paper on the ground. "What are we making here?"

"A backdrop of a Seven-Eleven. It'll be for when Romeo gets in the fight with Juliet's' family or something." Terrence explained very badly.

"Terrence, did you read the script?" Thomas asked.

"Aha, actually, we don't have to read the scripts!" Informed Joan with a wag of their finger. "We just have to make and design!"

Thomas nodded with understanding, "Right, and I got a script because I'm doing the lights and stuff."

"Uh-huh, lighting cues." Agreed Terrence, sharpening a pencil as he began to divide the A3 into quarters. "Now, Thomathy, let us start."

The hours flew by surprisingly quickly and Thomas felt slightly confused on how he, Joan and Terrence had managed to finish up the paper so quickly. The top left corner was filled with a 3D diagram from different angles, along with notes on why, how and where. Below it, in the bottom left, was a colour scheme, along with a printed out reference of a Seven-Eleven. Across in bottom right, was a whole block of description about the set-piece. The final quarter was a bird-eye view of the stage from the back wings - there were small, thinly sketched rectangles of possible positions.

"And then," Joan was saying, "We come back tomorrow and write on the back what materials we need!"

Thomas beamed. "Cool! Now, I need to meet up with Roman, I don't wanna walk back alone."

"See you later, Sir Thomathy!" Called Joan after their friend as they waved Thomas off.

Thomas went to the stage and watched all the actors finish up. Roman, Virgil and Remus were taking a longer while than the others - Thomas wondered whether it was Roman's' devotion, Virgil's' anxiety or Remus's' stubbornness keeping them there. They were the last ones to stand up, still rehearsing.

"Wait, Virgil, you jumped ahead," Remus said with a frown.

Virgil turned red, eyes scanning the script. "O-Oh, right, uhm... Sorry, uh: Romeo, wasn't breaking into a party, then climbing onto a girls' balcony good enough? You're going to get arrested if you keep listening to Gabrial, so listen to me!"

"Why do you care if I get arrested, Lucifer? Getting arrested must be something you'd want me to do!" Grinned Remus as he got to read his line.

Suddenly, appearing out of nowhere, Janus tapped him on the shoulder. "Remus, we have to go. I need you to come with me to the makeup store to grab some more eyeliner." Said the make-up artist. Half of his face was done in Gabrial's' makeup and the other was completed to look like Lucifer. It was very unsettling but Remus didn't seem unnerved.

"Sure, Deceit. See you gay fuckers laters!" Remus called, already walking off the stage as Janus followed him.

Thomas used this moment of pause to run up to Roman. "Hey, Ro, should we head back now?"

Roman blinked then groaned, slapping his hand over his eyes as he dragged it down his face.  "Thomas, I forgot! Damn it, I promised Virge he could stay over mine to rehearse some more! I'm sorry! Virgil, maybe tomorrow?"

"Nah, princey, I'll only be free today because my dad has booked me out completely with therapist appointments since I dropped my last one." Virgil shrugged. "Next week-?"

Thomas coughed, getting their attention. "No, it's fine, you guys. Roman, I'll walk back with you tomorrow, don't worry. You two have fun, no getting busy in the shower, now!~" Thomas couldn't resist finishing with a tease as he started to head backstage to find someone else to walk with.

"T-Thomas! I hate you for saying that but I love that it was a Heathers reference!" Roman yelled after him.

Thomas had managed to find Logan typing away furiously at a computer. He saw Thomas enter in the reflection of the screen and turned away from the word document. "Salutations, Thomas."

"Hey, Logan. I was wondering if you'd be free to walk back with me. Patton's already left, so..."

"Patton? I thought you walked back with Roman." Logan replied, eyebrows furrowing together in confusion.

"Oh, yeah, I do! But he's going to head straight home to rehearse with Virgil and I'd kinda feel like I'm third-wheeling on a platonic date-thing..." Thomas explained awkwardly.

Logan nodded. "I understand. I'll finish this page, then, and shall accompany you home."

Thomas grinned. Logan blinked and smiled back, probably not used to people seeking out his company. That is definitely going to be the highlight of the week, thought Thomas. I got Logan to smile.
