Edit: I forgot to title it. I'm a genius sometimes

(I write more random ideas, I post, repeat)

Killer's POV

I can hear Dream calling out in his sleep again. "Nightmare! Nightmare! Brother, stop! Don't do it!" He dreams about Nightmare a lot, even when I can't hear him, he writes about the dreams in his journal. I found it and read it once, almost all of his dreams are about Nightmare. I grab his shoulder and gently shake him awake. "Night-" He sits up looks around with sleepy eyes and then looks at me. "Killer?"

"Yeah. I woke you up"

"Oh, ok" He does this all the time, no thank you and barely even acknowledges me.

"I'm done"

Dream looks at me in confusion. "What?"

"I'm done. I'm breaking up with you."

"Why?" Hah, no please stay. No begging, it's like he doesn't even care.

"It's because of this. Everything is always about Nightmare! I want to go on a date but you're too busy because Nightmare is attacking an AU. Why can't you leave that to Blue and Ink? They're perfectly capable. I know you're been meeting Nightmare in the Dreamscape."

"You read my dream journal?! That's private. Besides its only negotiations, I'm just trying to do what's best for the multiverse."

"What about what's best for us? Did you ever think about that? Doesn't my happiness count for something?"

He seems a little taken aback by my questions. "Of course, but-"

I cut him off. "But, I'm not that important."

"Why didn't you say anything?"

"I tried, but whenever you weren't busy dealing with Nightmare, you were being Ink's puppy-dog. Can't you see that he's just using you?" Dream opens his mouth but I'm faster. "But nothing. Ink is soulless. He doesn't care about the AUs. How was I so stupid to think that you would figure it out? I miss the Dream that cared about me, the one I left Nightmare's group for. They were right, this was a dumb idea." Blue isn't this naive, I could convince him to join me when I go back to Nightmare's group.

I get up and start walking out of our room. No, it's just Dream's room. I don't belong here anymore.

"Killer!"

"Too little, too late," I say before leaving the room.

Dream's POV

Killer's right, I do dream about Nightmare often. I see that memory, where he ate the dark apple and I couldn't stop him. And maybe I do meet him in the Dreamscape, but I'm getting so close to having my brother back. He's been a lot more passive lately, even going out of his corrupted form. He isn't destroying Aus as often, the multiverse is safer because of it. I'm just trying to save everyone, why doesn't he understand?
