Once upon a time in a castle... How big was the castle? Why does that matter? You have to give a description, it helps the readers visualize.
Ok, once upon a time in a really big castle, guarded by a dragon, there was a handsome prince. Isn't it normally a Princess? They're the same thing, just one has boobs. Anyway, your turn.
Many had tried to rescue the prince but all had been slain at the hand of the mighty dragon. But one day, a brave knight rode to the castle to rescue the prince. He fought the dragon and scaled the tower to rescue the prince. Together, they escaped the castle and rode off into the sunset. But what the knight didn't know was that he had unleashed a terrible curse that the dragon was there to prevent from spreading. The knight and the prince tried to escape the curse but it follows them everywhere they went bringing death and destruction. People everywhere they had rode became gravely ill and died within days but that's not all. Their dead and rotting corpses became alive again and drug living beings down into the underworld to live in eternal hell.
"What happened after that?"
"We don't know."
"Why not?"
"We got put in time out for scaring the other kids."
"It's not even that scary"
"They didn't like the pictures we drew to go along with the story."
"Well, you two can finish your story now." Nightmare said.
"That's a good idea. Thanks dad." Quill and Nova then ran off to Quill's room to finish their story.
"What should happen next?"
"I don't know, maybe if we just start going again, we'll figure it out."
"Ok, you start"
The only hope to stop the curse was to find a new dragon. So the prince and the knight rode to the magical kingdom of Greenwood to find a dragon. But when they got there, they discovered that all the dragons were dead. All except one, an unhatched dragon egg. They found a witch in possession of the dragon egg and started plotting to get it away form her. They waited until the witch was alone and used an enchanted spear to stab her through the chest. Just then the dragon egg hatched. Then the dragon hatchling turned and attacked the prince and the knight. They ran away bleeding from where the dragon bit and scratched them. The dragon pursued them and they kept running until they made it all the way back to the castle where they started. The dragon stayed outside the castle and they stayed inside. They looked through the books to find a cure for the curse. The only solution they found was for one of them to die. The knight said he would do it but the prince refused to let him die. With no other option, the knight locked the prince in the tower again and then went to the dragon. The prince managed to break the door open and quickly rushed outside after the knight. But it was too late, the knight turned to the prince and then stabbed himself in the gut with his sword.
"This sounds more like a love story than a horror story." Nightmare interrupted.
"We're getting back to the horror"
"Don't interrupt. It has more of an impact when you feel connected to the characters."
The prince cried for his dead friend. A demon heard his cries and appeared to offer a bargain. The demon said he could bring the knight back to life if the prince became his servant. The prince agreed but the demon said he had to one thing to prove his loyalty first. The demon told him to kill the dragon, but if he did that there would be nothing to stop the curse. The prince in his grief agreed and slayed the dragon. The demon brought the knight back to life and the curse resumed as suddenly as it had stopped. It came back with twice the fury it had before and more and more people died everyday after that. After a long while the knight knew what he had to do. He waited until the one day a week when the demon allowed the prince to see the knight. The prince went to greet the knight but the knight, in tears stabbed him through the chest and in his grief took his own life. The demon was enraged and cursed their spirits so they would be reborn and suffer through this torment of betrayal for all eternity. The people of the kingdom were magically trapped inside it so they cannot escape from the curse. They live in constant fear not knowing when the curse could start again and praying that it ends soon so they do not lose more people. The End.
"That was a good story. You two should write together more."
"No thanks. He's kinda hard to get along with sometimes."
"I agree."
"It's your choice then." Nova then had to leave for the day because his parents had to go home.
"I'll see you later. Bye, Quill"
"Bye, Nova. I'll tell you when I get done with the drawings."
"Cool, I can't wait to see them"
