Maryse looked down at her son sleeping peacefully in her lap. Even in sleep he managed to shed more tears, making that part of her dress a darker shade of blue. She was really heartbroken by the fact that she failed to be a good mother for her children, not just for Alec but for Izzy and Jace too. She realised that her one son might have forgiven her but she needs to apologise to her other kids too.
She stroked her hands on Alec's head lovingly a few times then carefully held her son's head and placed a pillow below it, and went to search for Izzy and Jace. She knew that she had some serious apologizing do to her children.

Izzy and Jace were at kitchen eating dinner which they didn't had before hand because of the chaos, and now they wanted to eat peacefully.
"Where's Alec? He's not in his room!" Jace said while chewing the mouthful of his lemon chicken rice.
"I saw him going towards mom's room." Izzy said with worried tone, chewing her own share of rice.
"Oh Angels! That doesn't sound good. He was mad about this engagement."
"I know, I'm worried about him. I just hope they're not yelling at each other."
"Him? I'm worried about both. Maryse was fuming when she left for her room."
"He wasn't any good when I saw him walking towards her room." She said with concerned filled tone remembering the conversation between Magnus and Alec she heard accidentally.
Jace was about to reply to that when he saw Maryse walking towards them.
"Izzy!" He elbowed her and they both kept the plate on the slab exchanging a look when they saw the state she was in.
Maryse walked towards them when she finally found them, her eyes puffy and red from all the crying.
"Maryse!?"
"Mom, what's wrong?"
Without saying anything she hugged both of them, unable to stop her tears from shedding down again.
"Maryse? What happened?" Jace asked when she let go of them and held both of their hands.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I couldn't be a good mother. I've failed you all." She sobbed.
"That's not true, Mom. Who said that to you? You're the world's best mother." Izzy said reassuringly.
"Maryse? Did Alec?-"
"No, no Jace. He didn't said anything, instead he made me realise how wrong I was. I couldn't see how much hurting he was. I failed him, I failed you all. I'm so sorry, please, forgive me if you can."
"There's nothing to forgive you for, mom. Please don't say it. You didn't failed us." Izzy said softly.
"I agree with her, Maryse, we don't know what happened between you and Alec, but I know that I couldn't have asked for a better mother. You've taken me in your shelter when I lost my parents, and raised me to be what I'm now. I don't know what would have happened if you didn't adopted me, so please, don't think in anyway that you've failed me."
Maryse looked at both of her children with pure love, tears flowing down uncontrollably.
"I know that I've made mistakes, I should have listened to you both when you came to me this morning, instead I continued to hurting you all. I'm sorry, I-"
"I already told you to stop thinking like that, Mum." Alec said while walking in between them, his eyes were red too.
"Alec, honey, I just, I know I've failed you all." She said while looking at the floor.
