Magnus was in Alec's mini library, carefully climbing up in one of the shelves where Alec's journal was kept, pawing at it to make it fall. His boyfriend was on a call right now, pacing in the hallway outside his room, so Magnus saw it as a chance to at least peek at the journal.

After a few successful paws, the book was slightly tilted outside, his claw marks were all over it, but he didn't care. He pawed at it again, continuously, until the book was almost outside the shelf, he only needed a few more pulls, but unfortunately for him, as he was about to reach closer to it his back leg slipped and he fell on the floor with a loud thud, pulling down all the books with him of that shelf as the books started falling on his tiny body.

"Meaw! Meaw! Meaw! Meaw! Meaw! Maaaww!"

Alec ran into his library when he heard the thud and blinked, eyes widening with shock and he looked at the little devil. "By the angel! Marius!" He picked him up and put him on the couch then looked at all the fallen books and noticed the claw marks on his journal.

"Angels! My journal, I told you it's not for you to play with. Look what you did!" He looked at the cat-fox accusingly and started arranging the books on the shelf once again.

Magnus jumped from the couch and stood beside Alec, pawing at his legs. "Meow!"

"Not now, buddy!" He said frustratingly.

Magnus looked around and held one of the books in his mouth then pawed his legs again. Alec sighed then looked down at the cat-fox who was holding a book in his mouth, squinting his eyes at him, having a guilty look on that cute little face. He took the book from his mouth, put it on the shelf then bent down and picked Marius up.

"You mischievous little thing, you have your toys to play with. Those are my books and you're not touching it again." He walked out of the library holding him in his arms, then put him on his bed. Leaving the cat-fox there, he went into the library again to clean it up.

'Damn it! How am I supposed to get to it? I need my answers! I need to find another way, no matter what I'll keep trying!' Magnus thought to himself and waited for his next opportunity to get to that journal.

For the next few days, whenever he got the opportunity, he tried to reach for the journal but was always caught by Alec with a lot of scolding and fewer cuddles, so he stopped and started planning new ways to get to the journal.

The blaring of the alarms woke Alec from his nap who was lying down with Marius curled up on his chest. He groaned then stood up, placing the cat-fox on his bed.

"Sorry, buddy. I have to go. You can sleep or roam around. Just don't get in trouble again." He patted his head and kissed him between the eyes, earning a soft meow from him then left his room.

As soon as he reached the ops center, he saw everyone was gearing up in panic, and Izzy and Jace were looking at the monitor with frowns.

"What's happening?" He asked his siblings.

"Nothing good, Alec," Jace answered. "Demonic activity at Times Square and Manhattan Bridge. There are greater demons at both places, we suspect it's Agramon and Moloch. And hundreds of lesser demons too."

"Angels! Like the previous ones?"

"Yes, big brother. We need to move fast."

"Damn it! What does Asmodeous want!?" He whispered to himself. "Okay! Jace, Izzy, take a team of Shadowhunters to Times Square, Mom, you're heading this one. Simon, Clary-"

"Umm, Alec, can I stay here, instead? I'll keep an eye on the activities and communicate with them." Simon asked and everyone looked at him.

"And the reason being?" Alec asked, not liking being cut off when commanding.
