Magnus breathed heavily as he looked at his body for any signs of that energy in his body and to his relief, nothing had happened, but soon he realized something really dreadful had happened. He wasn't able to feel his warlock magic, which only meant one thing, he wasn't able to shift back, he was stuck in his katasu form, and if he wasn't able to find any solution for it, it was forever.
He wandered his eyes around his wrecked apartment, but wherever he saw, his eyes fell on the burnt walls and piles of ashes of the woods of his furniture. He ran his front paw over his face as he licked his mouth. The burnt smell was really sensitive to his tiny nose, so he needed to get out of there as soon as possible. With the remaining energy left in him, he pushed himself up, sprinted towards the balcony and jumped out of it to reach the institute, and let his mate know what happened.
He was completely out of energy when he reached the institute, almost dragging his body and pulling himself to walk a little further. His legs were shaking badly and from all the jumping over the buildings, he somehow managed to injure his back leg which was now bleeding and leaving a trail of blood behind him and there were several scratches all over his tiny body. To his relief, the main door was open and some shadowhunters were talking to a visitor. Taking his chance, he tried to gather the energy he had in him and sprinted inside, but soon heard the shadowhunter guards running after him.
"MEAAAWW!" He called, hoping that Alec would listen to his cries.
"What are you doing, idiot, run faster, get that thing out of the institute before anyone finds out!" One of the guards yelled.
"I'm trying!" The other yelled back.
"MEEEAAAWWWWW!"
"What is going on he.. Marius! Thank the angels!" Izzy came when she heard the guards and as soon as Magnus saw her, he jumped in her arms and wrapped his tail around her wrist like always, thanking his mate's angel for sending her on time as he didn't have any ounce of energy left in him.
"What were you two doing?" She asked authoritatively as she stood up and held shaking Marius in her arms.
"Mam, this thing came inside when we were attending that vampire leader. We thought sir would be mad that an animal came inside the institute, so we-"
"You thought!?" She yelled. "If you think Alec will be mad for something like that, you don't know your Head. Now get back to your job! And show some respect to others!"
"Sorry, mam." The guards apologized and left, leaving Izzy with the poor Marius shaking in her arms.
"Izzy!?" Jace's voice called from behind, making her turn around. "Whom are you yelling at? Oh, god! Marius!" He ran towards her and picked the cat-fox in his arms, making Izzy pout.
"Meew!"
"The guards were being assholes to him!" She answered as they both stroked his head.
"Say something new! But thank god he's safe. Let's take him inside!"
Izzy nodded as they both walked into the ops center and put him in one of the vacant tables, making all the heads turn at them.
"Is that... Marius!?" Simon asked.
"Oh my god!" Clary exclaimed as they all ran towards the table. "Jace, what happened!? Where did you find him?"
"He ran here as far as we know," Jace answered as they stroked his tiny body in a comforting manner and Maryse wrapped a clean cloth on his back leg which was bleeding, as soon as she was done, Jace snatched him from Maryse's hold and held him close to his chest making everyone shock with his action.
