42. The final battle.

"Catarina!" Magnus screamed for his best friend then bore his angry golden cat eyes at Asmodeous. "Enough of you, Asmodeous! She's right, let's end this today, it's either you or me!"

"Fine, my son. Let's see who's the real king!"

Asmodeous' deep black eyes turned into his devilish cat ones as he gathered his reddish-black magic and threw it towards Magnus but it was disintegrated into flames by the blast of pure white magic thrown by Lexi towards it whose mismatched wings were flapping beside her, ready to protect her father at any cost.

"You bitch!" Asmodeous seethed and gathered his magic once again but a strong ball of blue magic hit him with immense force making him groan.

"I said..." Magnus lashed out throwing another ball of magic towards his father. "Don't. Use. That. Word. For. Her!" His golden eyes bore into Asmodeous' soul like a predator as he strode towards the demon and gave a sharp and strong kick on his stomach as the greater demon fell back on the floor, clutching his abdomen.

"As much as I appreciate it, don't get involved in this Lexi. You too, Alexander. This is between me and him."

"But Ayah..."

"Magnus..."

"No! Go and help the others, I'll deal with him! It's our battle to end!" Magnus insisted.

Alec was about to argue when swarms of Iblis demons appeared out of nowhere followed by a maniacal roar from Asmodeous' throat.

"You dare put hands on me, you ungrateful bastard! I took you in, cared for you, nurtured you, and taught you what it truly means to be a warlock! I'm your father, the King of Edom!"

"SHUT UP!" Magnus caterwauled, throwing a big red ball of energy towards Asmodeous sending him flying towards the wall. "Just shut up, Asmodeous! You are not my father, you hear me! You never cared for me! You took me in because I was already powerful! You wanted me to become like you! A monster! You killed my parents, mercilessly! You tried to take my daughter away from me! You're a true monster, Asmodeous! You won't live another day, and I'll make sure of that!"

"Let's see what you can do, Erlik!" Asmodeous got up from the floor, his satanic cat eyes boring into Magnus' predatory ones. "My lovely demons, kill them all!" He commanded and all the Iblis demons started attacking the group. Lexi tried to use her magic to kill them all at once but Alec stopped her making her mismatched brows draw in together.

"Angel, no! Don't use the wave, if the word would reach out to Clave, they'll waste no time in coming here and if they see you we don't know what they'll do. We don't want that. Use your magic normally, and warn your Queen and other Alemons as well, okay?"

"Okay, Pa. I'll help Aunt Cat, she's still unconscious."

"Okay, go and be careful," Alec said and turned towards his family who were fighting the demons but were clearly eavesdropping because of the visible pained and hurt expressions on their faces.

"Guys!" He said in his commanding voice and all of their head turned towards him while they still kept fighting. "Look I know we still have a lot to talk but let's just end this battle first. I promise we'll tell you guys everything." He waited for their response and when they all slowly nodded he sighed with relief and without any difficulty got into his leader stance. "Okay, Iz, Jace, take out your special stele, Clary use your runes, Mom, grab your double-edged sword, Clary, make her a portal, and Simon, use your combat skills with archery as we trained."

Izzy and Jace ran towards Alec as the three took out their special stele. As soon as they reached, they joined its tips together, the stele glowed silver and after a few seconds, Alec nodded indicating them to activate their shielding runes in sync. As soon as the shield of their combined angelic powers activated, they bind it to others using Clary's binding rune creating a huge angelic shield around them. Clary helped Maryse to grab her double-edged sword from the weapons room as she fought with the demons using her sun rune and Simon kept shooting the infinite arrows at the demons leaping at him as well as others. The team kept working in sync, slashing demons using their allotted weapons as the shield kept the demons from harming the shadowhunters.
