"Magnus... Alexiane's gone."
"What!? What do mean she's gone!? Where is my daughter!?" Magnus yelled as his heart kept racing at greater speed, ready to leap out of his chest at any point.
"I'm sorry, Magnus, we tried to protect her, but Asmodeous... he was really strong. He took her with him." Carita spoke, disappointment and guilt were clearly visible in her voice.
Magnus' expression softened as Alec kept rubbing his hand soothing on his back to calm his anger. With all the destruction caused by the king of Edom, he was full of everything in him, ready to tear apart anything and everything.
"I'm... I'm so sorry, Queen, I shouldn't have talked to you like that. I don't have any right to talk to you in the way I did. I was-"
"I understand, Magnus. You have every right to feel protective of your daughter. I failed in my job to save my children. I'm so sorry about it. I don't know what he did to her, but... Magnus, if he'll be able to feed her demonic side and make it more powerful than her angelic side, you know what that will mean. We'll... we'll lose her forever, Magnus."
"No! No, I won't let that happen! I won't let Asmodeous make my daughter a monster like him. He took everything away from me, he murdered my family, my dad who gave up being an archangel for our sake and turned human, my innocent mother who was purer than a crystal... I won't let him take away Lexi from me too! I'll kill him... I'LL KILL HIM!" He seethed with anger and threw the ancient Chinese vase kept on the side table with his angry red magic, shattering it into pieces and starling both Alec and Carita.
"Magnus!" Alec put his palm above Magnus' heart to calm him down so he wouldn't be able to cause any destruction in his anger. "Hey, calm down. We'll find angel, and Asmodeous will definitely pay for what he did. You need to calm down first, please."
Magnus closed his eyes and breathed heavily as he felt his mate's palm above his heart, calming his hyperactive nerves. He slowly blinked open his unglamoured eyes, the pupils in them had the narrowest vertical slit, almost like nothing, making Alec gulp. The look in them was scary enough for a normal mundane.
Alec withdrew his hand from his chest and cupped Magnus' face as he rubbed his thumb gently around the edge of his eyes and slowly, Magnus' eyes turned to normal, looking at his mate with a glossy look in them. Magnus sighed and leaned into his touch.
"Thank you, Alexander. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't calmed me down. But..."
"No buts Magnus, we'll save angel, she's not weak, she's your daughter. You hear me, we'll fight Asmodeous, together."
Magnus sighed and held his mate's palm, which was resting on his cheek. "I know, Alexander, but that doesn't mean I'll rest and wait. I'm going to give my father a visit. I'll bring her back if she's in Edom."
Alec and Carita gasped as Magnus clenched his fist. Before Alec could protest against his decision, his phone buzzed loudly. He took it out and saw that it was Izzy calling. It was obvious she was worried, they were gone for hours. He picked up the call and put it on speaker.
"Thank the angels! Where are you, big brother? And where's Magnus? Why wasn't anyone of you picking up the call? We got so worried! Are you both okay?"
"Iz! Calm down. We're fine. We actually fell asleep while waiting for her to heal. Sorry, I know we should be there helping you guys-"
"Alec, it's okay. Don't beat yourself up like always. Everything's under control here, well, mostly it is. The warlocks and Clary are helping the mundanes with the memory spell and rune, and the one with the sight doesn't want to get their memory erased. Apart from that, all are in the infirmary and guest quarters. You don't have to worry. And, how's the woman, and who is she?"
