It had been a few days since Magnus and Alec talked about the cat-fox and by now Magnus had planned everything, every move he was going to take to stay with the shadowhunter in his katasu form. That's the only way left to quickly get his answers which he wanted badly.

They were in their loft and Magnus was 'so called' packing his stuff when a pair of strong arms wrapped around his waist.

"Do you really have to go?" Alec asked in a sad voice.

Magnus turned around in the cage of his arms and kissed those pouting lips softly.

"Yes, Alexander. This client is really important and one of my oldest friends. I can't deny her service. And traveling from Melbourne isn't good for her... neither portaling." He added when he saw the look on his face.

Alec sighed. He didn't want him to leave. "When will you be back?"

"I don't know that. Maybe just a few days or weeks or maybe a month if things are critical there."

"Who is this client that is stealing my boyfriend from me?"

"Alexander, don't be childish. I'm the High Warlock of Brooklyn, I have my duties."

Alec tightened the grip on his waist and snuggled closer to him. "I know. Sorry. I just.." he trailed off, not knowing how to explain what he was feeling.

"Hey, I'll be back before you even know it. And, you don't have to explain, it's the first time we're doing long distance since we started dating. I know what you're feeling."

Alec let out a deep breath and pressed their foreheads together. "Thank you, but please try to come back soon."

"I will shadowhunter, but only if you let me go."

Alec sighed for the millionth time that day and stepped away. Magnus quickly packed his bags and opened the portal, kissed the shadowhunter goodbye then stepped into the portal.

Alec looked around the empty loft as soon as the portal closed and sat on the couch with longing filled in his eyes.

"How can I miss you already, Magnus Bane? What have you done to me?" He thought out loud then quickly grabbed the apartment keys, locked it, and started walking towards the institute. He knew that the more he stayed at the loft the more he'll miss Magnus.

As soon as Magnus stepped out of the portal he was greeted with a pile of take-outs swishing under his expensive glitter Gucci shoes. He cursed under his breath and threw the bag on the nearby couch.

"Seriously, Ragnor Fell! This is how you greet your old friend!" He yelled while stepping away from it and cleaning his shoes with his magic.

He was about to yell again when a nearby chair moved on its own accord and a loud thump echoed in the whole mansion from the above floor.

Magnus rolled his eyes, clicked his fingers and a green-colored man with horns on his forehead fell near him from a large painting.

"Don't you think these tricks are getting old, Ragnor! Think something better next time."

"What do you want now, Bane?" Ragnor said while getting up from the floor and dusting his jacket.

Magnus rolled his eyes in frustration. "Haven't I told you already that Ragnor?"

"And I've already told you, I'm not going to do it. So if you've-"

Before Ragnor could finish what he was saying, Magnus waved his hands and turned him into a huge green cabbage.
