Over the following week, Wooyoung had a hard time getting his city visit out of his head. San's dimpled smile seemed to follow him every where, even into his dreams.
And the fact that he wore the hoodie every day didn't help him get his mind off things.
The only thing that did was the fact that his parents followed through with their threat and cut off his phone service.
While he was happy that he didn't have to worry about them calling him nonstop anymore, it turned his phone into a glorified music player and he had no way to contact anyone. And since he was unable to pay for WiFi right now, he had no way of looking anything up either.
So on his next day off, Wooyoung put on the outfit that San had bought for him. It was the nicest thing he owned, so he figured it would have to do if he was going to go look for a second job. He needed to have some way for people to get ahold of him.
And by people, Wooyoung meant his boss. Because he didn't know anyone here.
The only other people who worked at the library were older, and no offense to them, but he really had no interest in getting to know them outside of work.
Wooyoung checked himself out in the mirror, once again wishing he had a little makeup so that he looked nicer for any potential interview he could get today, but this would have to do.
He hurried down to the bus to take it to the main part of town and started walking by all the businesses looking for help wanted signs with a stack of resumes in his hand.
It had been a challenge, but he had managed to print them out using the library printer without anyone knowing, although he had to pay per page so it probably didn't really matter that much.
There were a few placed that had signs up, most of them restaurants or bars, but as soon as Wooyoung said he didn't have any serving experience he was turned away immediately. And the places that would give him a chance wouldn't work with his schedule at the library.
Wooyoung was starting to lose hope when he came across a small office tucked in between two buildings. It was for a private detective, and he had a sign up too saying he was looking for a file clerk.
Thinking this could be it, Wooyoung pushed the door open, setting off a small bell.
A tall, fairly muscular man stepped out of a back room and paused when he saw Wooyoung. "Hi Son, how can I help you?" He asked, his eyes flicking ever so slightly to take in Wooyoung's appearance.
He suddenly felt very self conscious as he cleared his throat. "Um, I saw your sign." He said, pointing at the window. "A-And I was wondering if you still needed help?"
The man crossed his arms, making his shoulders and upper arms flex a little.
Damn he was fit...
"I might be. Why should I hire you?"
"Well, I'm very organized, Sir. And I'm already used to a filing system. To be honest with you, I work for the library several blocks over and I'm looking for a second job. I'm a hard working and I do my best to do everything right the first time." Wooyoung did his best to stand up straight, but he found the man intimidating, so that was hard to do.
"You work at the library?"
"Yes, Sir."
The man hummed and sat down at his desk. "Sit."
Wooyoung did as he was told and kept a firm grip on his stack of resumes. He felt very nervous, but he didn't fully understand why.
"What's your name?"
