Dr. Fields was very thorough in his examination. He helped Wooyoung lay down on a medical bed and hooked up several different machines to him to monitor his vitals.

While some of the data gathered, he stepped out of the room to make some calls to try and rush the blood work.

The entire mood was grave.

San stayed by Wooyoung's side for as long as he could, but at one point Pierre poked his head in the room. He looked extremely worried, but very stressed at the same time. "I'm so sorry to bother you Mr. Choi... But..."

"I told you to tell him I have an emergency." San snapped, making his bodyguard flinch.

"I did... So had Yeosang. But..." Pierre cringed. "He's threatening to pull out of the deal..."

San pinched the bridge of his nose and groaned.

"It's ok..." Wooyoung whispered and turned his head slightly to look at him. "I'm not... Going anywhere..." He managed give a small smile while breathing heavily.

The older made a small sound of protest, then shook his head. "Are you sure?"

"Go."

San stood up to kiss his forehead, then hurried out of the room. Pierre came to take his place. "I'm sorry, I didn—"

"It's... Ok..." Wooyoung closed his eyes and tilted his head back up. And it was true. He understood that San was going through a lot right now, and that this wasn't ideal timing for him to suddenly get so sick. It wasn't like he could ask San to put his life, and the lives of his employees and business partners, on hold just for him.

They were quiet for a long moment before Pierre leaned forward and rubbed his neck nervously. "So, did he do it?"

Wooyoung opened his eyes slowly and glanced at the bodyguard next to him.

The look in his eyes must have said it all because Pierre nodded and sighed. "I knew he would. May I speak frankly?" When he got a small nod, he pursed his lips, then continued slowly. "I tried to tell him to wait. There is a lot going on for him right now, and I know this is really fast. Did you give him an answer."

"No." Wooyoung looked down, shame filling him. It had to have been so embarrassing for San to not get an answer from him.

"Good."

Wooyoung looked up in surprise and felt his mouth open a little.

Pierre gave him an almost sad smile. "Mr. Choi cares for you deeply, and I know that you care for him to, but I'm not blind. You don't always look happy."

His words rang true. Wooyoung bit his lip. "I..." He took a deep breath. Even thinking was getting hard for him.

"Mr. Choi can be very impulsive. He is used to getting what he wants, and doesn't take no for an answer easily. If there is something, or someone, you need to speak with... then you need to let him know. Don't let him assume things for you." Pierre's voice was calm and gentle, and there was a kind sparkle to his eyes. "You deserve happiness too. You both do."

Before either of them could say anything else, Dr. Fields walked back in looking at a clipboard. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired." Wooyoung tried to follow his movements with his eyes, but he was having a hard time staying away.

"Good. I added a sedative to your IV. It's a slow working one, but that also means it will stay in your system longer. You body appears to need time to recharge, so I want to give you the chance to do that. However, with your permission, I will continue running tests while you sleep."
