Wooyoung looked at himself in the mirror and nodded with satisfaction. He thought he had managed to throw together what he thought was a pretty good outfit.
Most of his morning had been spent digging through his closet for something that would be appropriate for the farm but also made him feel good about himself.
He needed a little bit of a confidence boost after everything that had happened with Marcus. After giving it some thought, he wanted to be able to walk in and show that Marcus' threats meant nothing to him. Wooyoung didn't want the man to hold any power over him if he could help it.
So he had gone and found one of his old dress shirts he had used for interviews and tried to iron it out by sticking in the bathroom with him while he took a hot shower. Then he let it stay in there with the door closed.
He towel dried his hair and stepped into his closet to pull out a pair of worn skinny jeans and slipped his boots from Jongho on.
They had become one of his favorite pairs of shoes to wear and they were forming to his feet perfectly, making them very comfortable. It was still odd when he heard the 'thunking' sound as he walked, but most of the time he was able to forget about it.
Wooyoung grabbed his shirt from the bathroom and was pleased to see that most of the wrinkles were gone. It was a pretty faded lavender color with cuffed sleeves and a very low v-cut if he left one or two buttons undone.
Which he planned to do as soon as he was off tonight.
He just needed to get through the day with Marcus first.
When he stepped through the front door, Wooyoung noticed that his boss was staring intently at his computer. "Good morning." He said, keeping his head high and voice strong.
"Morning." Marcus grunted. "I've got a busy day ahead of me, so you're going to be here by yourself for most of it if that's ok?"
"Yeah, that's fine." Wooyoung answered, trying to hide the relief in his voice. The idea of not having to see Marcus that much was the best news he could hear.
"Thanks. There's a list of places that deliver here in the drawer if you want to order something for lunch, just put it on the card in there as well. I'll be back as soon as s I can." Marcus finally looked up and offered a grateful smile, although Wooyoung didn't miss the fact that his eyes traveled up and down his body.
"Sounds good." Wooyoung kept eye contact with him, trying to stay strong under his scrutinizing glance.
Marcus' mouth twisted into an impressed smile and he made a sound of approval before he walked around his desk.
Neither of them broke eye contact, and Marcus walked a little closer to him than necessary, but he thankfully didn't stop and left Wooyoung alone.
It ended up being a pretty relaxing day. Wooyoung kept himself busy by going through some of the files in the back. He only had to answer the phone a couple of times, both of which he took a message for and left on Marcus' computer screen so he would see them.
For lunch he ordered a sandwich from down the street and ate it in the back room in peace.
Marcus called only once to let him know he was held up but he would be back before Wooyoung was off for the night, which ended up being true.
They barely had a chance to talk before Wooyoung said goodnight and fled from the shop.
He was proud of himself for how strong he stayed in front of Marcus, so now he needed to keep that up and keep a level head for the future. There was no denying that Marcus was going to try something.
