It was about 2 weeks since Dae's mission and everything has been normal. Classes have been great. The other students have been showing great potential and have been holding their own against their teachers. JYP and his staff are highly proud of the success of the school so far.
Jinyoung, Hyeon and Dae became their own friend group. They don't have much classes together, but they still talk and see each other a lot.
"Hyeon, you should come over to my house sometime," Dae suggests, taking a bite of her lunch.
"Why can't I?" Jinyoung questions, disappointment lingering slightly in his tone.
"My parents almost killed me for talking to you for the first time, how do you think they would react to a sleepover?"
"Good point." he promptly agrees.
"I would love to come over, would your dads be okay with that?" Hyeon adds.
"I, don't know" Dae answers truthfully. "I'll talk to them and let you know once I have a solid answer from all 8 of them." She adds gruffly. "Why do I have 8 stubborn dads?" She whines.
"We live alone in the dorms, at least you have dads," Hyeon comments dryly, ruining the mood slightly.
"Oh! I'm so sorry. I didn't even think of that." Dae quickly apologizes, bowing her head in shame.
"Jackson is technically my dad, so no offense from me," Jinyoung reassures.
"Yeah, well, my dad was killed in the mafia business. I'm here to honor him." Hyeon proudly expressed.
"Oh, I'm sorry about your dad, but I'm proud of you." Dae chimes in.
"Thank you. I appreciate it." Hyeon smiles brightly, thinking about her dad.
"Hey 'Racha" Dae starts, approaching three out of nine of her parents at their desk after school.
"What's up, love?" Chan questions.
"Can Hyeon and I have a sleepover?"
"No." Changbin concludes "She isn't coming here, you aren't going there. Absolutely not. No questions asked."
"I should've expected that. Okay." Dae says shrugging, turning away to go visit Seungmin.
Jisung grabs her shoulder at lightning speeds and spins her around. Dae's reflexes kick in and she grabs Jisung's hand and twists it back, before quickly realizing and releasing him.
"What?" She inquires dryly.
"You're just gonna end the conversation like that?" Jisung loftily judges, "Where the hell is your fire?"
"I don't need to fight over everything. And I expected you to say no, Hyeon just wanted me to ask. I understand why we can't have a sleepover, so I'm not pushing it."
Changbin smiles gently and kisses her forehead, signaling the end of the debate.
"They said no," Dae informs Hyeon and Jinyoung the next day at lunch.
"Are you kidding me?" Hyeon condemned, throwing her hands in the air. "Did you even ask or do you hate me?
"Woah, Hyeon, it's fine, the mafia is a dangerous world, please understand why your sleepover can't happen."
"It doesn't even seem like she even fucking asked."
"My parents are stubborn, so no means no. And I did ask, please trust me."
"Yeah, sure," Hyeon replies sarcastically.
"Are you feeling alright? I'm sorry you can't come over, but no means no." Dae questions worryingly.
"If you want me to stick around with you and Jinyoung, I suggest you find a way for me to come over." Hyeon fakely smiles and walks away, leaving Dae and Jinyoung alone.
"Um," Jinyoung starts, looking just as confused as Dae.
"Do you know what that was about?" Dae asks.
"No, she seemed perfectly fine yesterday."
"I'm going into the breakroom before lunch is over to talk about it to my dads, see if I can get her to spend the night or get some spies to understand the situation. Are you good being ditched?"
Jinyoung smiles, chuckling, "Yes, I'm going to study in the library if you need me."
They say their mutual goodbyes and head separate ways.
Dae opens the break room door, all eyes falling on her for a brief moment before recognizing the non-threat and going back to their conversations.
"I'm in a pickle, help me." Dae sighs, setting down her backpack and plopping herself down on Chan's lap.
Chan links his hands around her waist to keep her stable. "What's wrong?" He contended.
"Hyeon asked to spend the night yesterday right? And you said no, so I told her that and she got really mad and left telling me she won't return until she's allowed to come over. I love her a lot, but that seems fishy."
"Lose contact with her," Minho bluntly demands. "Way too suspicious that she desperately wants to come over."
"But-" Dae protests, attempting to defend Hyeon.
"No, for your safety and ours, this isn't up for debate, understand?" Felix cuts in, his rich voice echoing authority.
"Yes." Dae sighs, understanding their point, but still upset.
"I'm sorry you've been particularly unheard lately, but Hyeon has been put on JYP's blacklist for a while, not giving us her parent's names and old residence. We accepted her because that's what JYP does, but that seemed suspicious, but you seemed to trust her and we trust your judgment, so we let her off the hook." Seungmin explained, making sure to sound kind and understanding.
"No, it's alright, I understand. Don't worry. Now explaining this to Jinyoung."
"Just tell him she's toxic, that'll convince a love-sick puppy," Hyunjin exclaimed, laughing hysterically.
Dae's face heats up, a rose alighting on her cheeks. "Hyunjin! He doesn't like me!"
"oh, sure!" Hyunjin wheezes out, slamming his hand on the table.
"Hyunjin, shut it," Jisung demands, seeming unimpressed.
Hyunjin sticks his tongue out to Jisung and winks at Dae.
Dae attempts to sleep that night, but thoughts about Hyeon keep popping up in her mind. "What would Hyeon want with our house? Why does she so desperately want to get into our house? Why are her house and parental records clean?"
Then it all clicks to her, everything. The resemblance, everything makes sense.
She needs to do something about this now. She grabs her phone. It's one in the morning, but she doesn't care. She gets changed into some training uniform Chan gave her a few months ago and runs out of her room. She grabs weapons. handcuffs, guns, knives, brass knuckles, anything she could get her hands on and runs towards the garage.
"Have I ever drove a car before? Yes. Did I suck? Yes. Did Hyunjin ground me from the car ever since? Yes. Am I still going to drive this car? Yes. You got this Dae. You have to do this. For the sake of JYP's company."
Dae gets in the car, revving the engine. Quickly, she opens the garage and rushes out of the house and onto the street.
Driving at a breakneck speed she keeps mumbling the same phrase over and over again; "Let's go kill YG's daughter."
