"You are so easily swayed, love." Chan's dad comments, leading the girl to her room.
Dae's eyes were fixed on the floor in shame. "I guess."
"What's wrong Eunji?" He questions softly, turning around and lightly cupping her cheek.
Dae flinched away slightly, before allowing his advances. "Nothing, I'm just hurt over my brother's lies to me."
"Oh, well you must get over that," He mewled, rubbing Dae's cheek softly. Dae cringed away but resisted. "You are going to work with him."
Dae looked at him wildly. "You told me they would all be safe! That means releasing all of them for the exchange of me!"
"They will all safely be released when Chris agrees too. So if you want your imposter fathers safe, I would recommend convincing your brother to not be so... stubborn."
"I understand."
Dae received a slap across the face.
"Formalities for your mafia leader," He snarled, harshly squishing her face.
"Yes, Dad."
Dae took a shower and explored her room, not being allowed out of it anyways. It was bland and depressing. The walls were a horrid brown and her bedsheets were a lifeless gray. There was no entertainment, only a desk with paper and a pen; and a dresser, filled with equally anticlimactic clothing.
"I want to go home," She depressingly mumbled, cradling herself on her bed. "I don't want to play brave anymore."
The door to her room clicked unlocked and Dae lifted her head, curiously peering at who was entering her room.
It was one of her father's rookies, gesturing her to come to him.
"Boss wants you to enjoy dinner with him."
She willingly follows him through a string of unfamiliar hallways, leading to the dining room, where her father was sitting at the head of the table.
"Dae, please have a seat."
Dae examined the food in front of her spot as she sat herself. The food looked good and plentiful.
"Please dig in, I have some things to discuss with you."
She started cautiously eating her food. But once she deemed it safe, she ate at a much quicker pace.
"What do you want to talk about?" Dae questions before taking another bite of her meal.
"Ah, yes. why I called you here. I was wondering if you had any questions about your real family?" He overexaggerated the word real.
Dae paused her eating, thinking for a moment. She absolutely hated how he worded that question, but she definitely had some questions about her blood family.
"What happened to my siblings?"
"I killed them. Everyone besides Chris. And your mother. She killed herself." He bluntly explains.
Dae shrugs, hearing worse before. "I knew that. I've heard that from Chan and Mom."
"Then what did you want to know?"
"What were they like?"
"You had an older brother and an older sister. But Chan was the oldest. Hazel was the older of the two. She liked horseback riding and was determined to move to America when she was of age. She died at 17 and a half. Luke was the other, and he took after Chris in a lot of ways. Talented, and athletic."
