♦️ Harley's p.o.v ♦️

My finger nails couldn't scratch even one layer off the bright purple flower keeping my children away from me. My eyes flicked behind me once more.

Instead of landing back on Pam my eyes were dragged further back. Selina was frozen on the floor alone, stepping away from her was Phoebe, hair swaying with hot energy.

Phoebe made her way to Pam slowly, I couldn't bring myself to let go of the petals holding my children hostage, I stood there frozen same as Selina. Pam didn't even see her coming her rage focused entirely on Zatanna. Arms coming up beside her she quickly engulfed Red in a ... hug?

All if the tension in Red's body drained away, I expected to her yell out in pain but there was no sound. Pam's legs caved underneath her body weight, Phoebe followed her to the ground. The embrace never broken.

Dread stole away the voices of everyone involved, afraid to breathe... afraid to ask if everyone was okay, knowing the answer was probably one we didn't want to hear.

Until the silence was destroyed by something sliding, creeping away? The walls sounded like they were alive, looking around I realised in a way they were. Pam's vines were cowering away, retreating to wherever they came from.

Something heavy fell onto my back, slipping its way down to the floor. Bursting from the quiet was a sound foreign to my ears, high pitched crying?

Heat rushed through my body as I turned around to my two trembling twins, tears streaming down there faces. Taking my babies out from there wilting prisons, I placed one on my hip and the other I held to my opposite side. Turning around I held them both close, bouncing my entire body in an effort to sooth them.

Phoebe still held Pam loosely in her arm, Red was sobbing quietly against her as Phoebe lent in close, mumbling something unintelligible to her. Relief filled me to know that she was alive before I remembered what she was doing to magic lady.

I looked over to Selina expecting her to still be frozen in fear, but she was missing from her original spot on the floor. Zatanna, my eyes jumped to Zatanna knowing that was the only other place I could expect to see my friend.

Zatanna was lay on the floor, her arms limp besides her body, her face was pale and the black locks sprawled across the floor around her didn't make her look any better. There was a hand resting against her forehead, fingers pinching her nose shut. Lips slamming against hers. I watched Zatanna's chest rise and then fall several times.

Selina dragged a hand across her forehead, quickly smearing short choppy hair across her head before her arms snapped down onto Zatanna's chest. Fingers interlocking she started to pump with purpose, the movement wasn't frantic like I had expected, her hands didn't shake or hesitate.

"Go get CROFT!" Phoebe's voice cut through the scene but I still couldn't pull my eyes away.

Zatanna's lips were parted. Red lipstick still stained her mouth.

"Harley!!" My arms twitched, feeling the weight in my arms forced me to look away.

My still bouncing body turned, placing each of my sleeping twins into their respective cot. Feeling terrible for wasting so much time I broke out into a sprint down the hall. Readying to run around the corner to the lounge room door my body connected with something hard.

I scrambled to my feet, looking down to see Mrs Croft also getting back onto her feet, I held out my hand which she took quickly.

"It's Zatanna! She ain't breathing Doc!" Running back to the main living room with the Doc slightly infront of me, my chest was burning but tears were hot in my eyes as I realised Zatanna was doing alot worse than me.

Making it through the door frame I looked at the damage Pam had caused, but there wasn't any. Everything looked the same way it did when I first arrived, normal house with crazy people, the only thing wrong with the house was a tiny pile of spilt soil on the carpet.

As Croft headed over to Kitty my body gravitated over to Red, who had just thrown herself away from Phoebe, her legs turning to jelly underneath her as soon as her support was thrown away.

"Don't you touch me! This is you!" I caught Pam before she got anywhere near the ground, hooking my arms under hers. "You got in my head!" Getting Pam to stand up and look at me was much harder than I thought it would be.

"Magic lady?? How'd ya kno-" Red's gaze finally steadied on me, emerald eyes blinking slowly.

"No! no... Phoebe." My eyebrows creased my face, confusion mingling with my exhaustion.

"Red I don't understa-" Tears welled up in her eyes as she gripped onto my arms.

"B- but they're the same! Phoebe did it to me a-and Zatanna s-shes so strong. I couldn't stop it... a-and Selina. I just want her to leave." Pamela sobbed against my chest as my confusion only grew.

"You want who to leave? Pam your not making any sense." I couldn't figure her out, she was using Phoebe and Zee interchangeably and it didnt make any sense, neither of them had done anything wrong.

"Don't worry, we're leaving." I thought that the next time I heard her voice it would be filled with rage, but Selina sounded hollow as she spoke.

Red lifted her head from my chest and we both angled ourselves to look at our friend. Selina was stood in the middle of Phoebe and - ZATANNA she was okay! She looked a little rough but she was very much alive which was a huge relief, I felt Red's body tense against mine and I couldn't help but sigh as I shuffled closer, gripping her hand in mine.

"Sel-" Pammy's voice was weak and it sounded all the more so as she was quickly shut off by that empty sound again.

"Stop it. Just STOP IT! You Almost KILLED Zatanna, don't you understand that?! There's nobody here more dangerous than you right now Pam..." Selena shifted her weight around as her seemingly unfinished statement settled in the air, waiting for what could have been forever if it wasn't for Zatanna saddling up closer and holding Selina's hand in both of hers. " And- And that's why Harley is coming with us..."
