The street was dead silent.

Hazel, Baekhyun and Kai were silent too as they walked. Each one pondering over thoughts of their own.

"Yo Kai!" Baekhyun broke the stillness with his chirp, "Did you know that she was the 'ass girl' I was talking about?"

"What did you--do-don't you dare call me that! I'm Hazel Kim." She retorted, and cocked her head to see Kai, who was looking elsewhere to hide his smile from her.

So embarrassing, she thought.

"But 'ass girl' suits you well. Right, Kai?" repeated Baekhyun, trying to be as annoying as possible.

Kai didn't reply. He was busy staring at the ground.

"Gosh, why are you so annoying Baekhyun?" she breathed in annoyance.

"Why are you so annoying Baekhyun?~" He imitated her in a sing-song manner, earning a light slap from her on his shoulder. "Wait a second! How did you get to know my name?"

"Um, I-I...heard him call you," Hazel said, pointing at Kai.

"Really? Kai doesn't use my name while calling often..." Quipped Baekhyun.

"Uh, I-I..." Hazel stuttered.

Kai, unbeknownst to Hazel, signalled Baekhyun to cut off the topic.

Baekhyun soon added, "I-I...I'm ass girl? Is that what you wanted to say?"

"Hey! Stop it!"

As Hazel and Baekhyun continued with their cock-and-bull fight, Kai smiled.

In all honesty, Kai too was aware that she was familiar with their names without them having revealed it. For some weird reason, the girl had chosen to follow them through the night and he'd felt it all so ridiculous. But, at the moment, he didn't want to put her in an uncomfortable interrogation 'cause he knew that she'd had a rough time awhile ago.

"That's enough." Sighed Kai, signalling Baekhyun to stop with a lift of a palm.

"Woah! You're ditching your bestie for this girl? I can't believe this." Baekhyun said with lips parted in a melodramatic way.

"It's getting more annoying now," said Kai, who was tired of all the non-stop bickering.

"Well, I can't believe that it's coming from your mouth. Are you pulling of an act in front of her? Trying to look cool, huh?"

Kai glared back.

"Okay, I'll stop." Baekhyun shushed himself with a finger on his lip. "Anyway, I'm sorry." He said turning to Hazel, "I was just trying to pull your leg. It's funny to see your reaction. Besides, you two are so quiet. I want you to be more casual around us, okay?"
