025: Falling Apart

Homeroom teacher Mr. Suho of class 1-2 had still not arrived and the students began discussing among themselves making the class a noisy mess. A gang of back-benchers huddled into a circle around a desk at the back row like as though having a conference meeting. They lounged talking nonsense and Kai sat isolated from the rest in a corner at the last, unbothered by the continuous banter. Baekhyun had bunked the class to attend music club activities, leaving behind Kai, who was preoccupied with his own thoughts.

"Our class lacks attractive girls. Looks like we're going to remain bachelors for the rest of our lives." Kai overheard one of the guys speak.

A laugh resounded. "Definitely! Why do I always feel like the other section has 'dateable' girls?"

"I wish I could be popular like Chanyeol of the other. He gets to be with hot girls." Another commented.

"Hot girls like Hazel to be more specific. She's the talk of the town, the new transfer student." Upon hearing her name, Kai's ears perked up.

"Did y'all know that Chanyeol bunked class and went on a date with Hazel?"

"Woah! Really ? How did you know that?"

"I was the one who gave him my cycle key."

Are they really dating? She keeps telling me that he's not her boyfriend, Kai wondered.

"She's definitely Chanyeol's girlfriend." Agreed another. "If God were to ever grant me a wish, it would be to date Hazel. She's damn hot!"

Kai's eyebrows creased in ire.

"Yes, she's hot and a hoe as well," laughed a guy.

Kai's eyes grew wide and he gritted his teeth in anger. "Calm down," he willed himself and closed his eyes.

"I know right! She looks like someone capable of dating multiple guys at a time. I hope Chanyeol doesn't mind sharing his girlfriend." A boy added.

Kai was trying to remain calm but the situation wasn't helping.

"She looks like a bimbo to me but she has all the right assets. Maybe she'll come with us too if we give it a try."

The boys howled.

Kai got up from his seat, walked over to them and slammed the bench with both hands. The class quietened upon hearing the thunderous noise. There was pin drop silence and everyone's eyes were transfixed on Kai.

The guys looked at each other flabbergasted by Kai's intimidating presence. He raked at each one of them with a devilish look in his eyes. "Another word from your filthy mouths and y'all are dead," he threatened.

The boys dared not to fight back. He was not someone they could take down by fighting. His mere presence was fearsome and scary. The guys went back to their places quietly.
