"x is equal to 8."
"But I'm getting x equal to 3," Hazel replied to Soyeon chewing the pen with a frown.
"Oh, let me see it," Soyeon took the notebook from her and inspected. Oh man, I'd forgotten to change the sign of 5 to negative when moving it to the other side of equals, she thought and mentally cursed herself for making a mistake as silly as that.
"How do you solve this one?" Soyeon pointed at the question on the textbook.
Hazel pondered, a pout forming as she focused on the sum, "You need to differentiate it after taking the exponent to the numerator," she explained. "It becomes easier that way, see."
"You've actually improved!" Soyeon said in disbelief. The truth was, she too had underestimated the latter much like the others. "There's no surprise you scored well and I was silly to think that Mr. Oh was partial to you."
Hazel smiled bitterly, stopped herself from revealing what she knew.
"Tuitions with Mr. Oh could be really helpful." Soyeon nodded. "Do you think there's a tiny bit chance that he'd allow me to join?" Soyeon suddenly shook her head and quickly added, "No way! He's never going to allow that."
Hazel rolled her eyes. "You can't say that unless you give it a try."
Soyeon looked back and pointed at the trio of girls at the back bench. "I overheard them one day. It seems they had personally gone to Mr. Oh and requested to take tuitions."
"And he rejected?" she narrowed her eyes. "What was the reason?"
"Something lame. I don't know." Soyeon shrugged.
The recess bell rung, Hazel informed Chanyeol that she wouldn't be joining him for lunch break before hurriedly running out of the class.
"That noona with whom you play basketball, you know her?" The short guy asked Chanyeol while sitting in the school's cafeteria during lunch break.
"Oh you mean Hazel?"
"Is she like half Korean or something?"
"Yeah she is...why do you ask?" Chanyeol asked, his attention drifting away from the mobile game he was playing.
"It's because I'm from Canada and you know like...Do you think you could like....", the guy's lips stretched into a wide smile,"like... uh, set me up on a date with her"
Chanyeol slid the phone into his pocket and swung his arm on the guy's shoulder, "You know Mark, unfortunately, you're not her type"
"What's her type?"
Chanyeol looked at him with a smirk, "Sorry buddy, that's a secret"
"Why aren't you telling? Is it because Hyung likes her?" Mark questioned.

Fanfic"Why did you do that?" Hazel gasped in shock. "If a man has two wings, it means that he can fly to heaven. Meaning, he's an angel and I'm not one. Actually, I'm not even a good person," he stated. "Can you see your back Mr. Oh?" "No," he furrowed...
