"Why did you do that?" Hazel gasped in shock.
"If a man has two wings, it means that he can fly to heaven. Meaning, he's an angel and I'm not one. Actually, I'm not even a good person," he stated.
"Can you see your back Mr. Oh?"
"No," he furrowed...

"Going back home by your car?" She asked, finding it hard to accept that this was their last tutorial session.
"It'll be our last tution class. As promised, I helped you fare well in your exams and I'm confident you can do well without my help hereafter," were the words he said at the beginning of the session.
"Really!? You're just kidding right?" She asked, wide eyed.
"I wish I was." He smiled wryly.
The class that would usually be filled with soft giggles and banter was instead replaced by silence.
After this class, they wouldn't be spending time together every evening. What initially began as a strict tutorial session relaxed with time. Silence lessened, interactions grew. Amicablity and admiration sprouted. Evenings were spent in relentless chatter of each other's life; his stories mainly being about about him and Vivi. The thought that he wouldn't miss it like her felt like pouring hot wax on open wounds; still unsure if that was how she was supposed to feel. Somewhere, somehow, this Godmother fairy of hers, consumed a vast space of her heart.
"No, I'm going by plane," he quipped, instantly sending both of them into fits of laughter.
Yet again, gloominess washed over her face.
The reason she asked that was to manoeuver him on giving her a car ride for one last time. But she pursed her lips tight, not wanting to let the words rush out of her mouth. She held back from telling how much she was going to miss it all while silently thinking that perhaps in the evenings to come, she would just smile reminiscing how beautiful her past evenings were.
He observed a thin film of water lacing her eyes that glistened in the dim rays of the setting sun. But he simply smiled, "All the best, then. Study well."
Both waved a bye at each other and she sighed watching his retreating back. Walking out of the school, she strutted at a painfully slow pace along the pavement. Sure thing that she could meet him at school everyday, but the private time they got during the tuitions when it was just them both, meant a lot.
She stepped onto the sandy sidewalk. When she turned back to see the footprints cast by her shoes, she was once again overcome by the feeling of...emptiness? sadness? loneliness? She couldn't quite understand what she felt and why. Wouldn't it be wrong to feel a sense of liking towards him? But could it be helped? It wasn't her choice in the first place. It just...happened to feel that way.
The gravel stones crunched beneath her shoes as she walked. Her eyes maintained an unwavered stare at the ground, blinking back the tears that threatened to slip down.
One, Two, Three...she counted and slowly lifted her chin with the hope that she would find his car miraculously come back and surprise her, only to get disappointed. This isn't a fairytale, she thought to herself as her forlorn figure stopped at the crossroad for the signal to turn green.
