A holiday on December 25th celebrated in almost every nation,
Where people can find many different ways to celebrate this special day.
Some people decorate a pine tree with colourful tinsel and shiny baubles,
Whilst others go to church to pray and praise our dear saviour.
This day has many unique meanings with several different traditions,
In some countries, Santa comes to give gifts while in Italy it is Befana.
No matter how you celebrate Christmas still has a common meaning,
To bring in all and welcome them with joy and hospitability.
Some people believe and know that Christmas honours Jesus' birth,
While others believe that it's just some fun holiday with presents to share.
But sometime during the day, we all gather round for a grand feast,
And share and spread delight and laughter all around with the people we love.
Because the gifts and presents that we receive don't matter in the end,
All in all, we need to remember who we love and who loves us.
To cherish the people we have and see how lucky we are to be alive right now,
As Christmas is a season of giving and we mustn't forget that.
We give gifts to those we love and care about at Christmas,
It is not about the materials and items it's about acknowledging the love we have.
Remember it's not about your presents, it's your presence,
So I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Author's Note: I don't often write in this type of style, I just couldn't be bothered trying to find rhymes for words that suited Christmas, Merry Christmas!
