Bushfires

Maybe it was a match? Maybe it was lightning that started the fire,

But all we know is that it was aided by arsonists with some desire.

Now Australia is burning and it's being devoured by raging flames,

Burning everything out of control which proves that this isn't a game.

It's all great when it's Christmas in a scorching, boiling Summer,

And over a thousand houses have been lost which is more than a bummer.

It is estimated that 1.25 billion animals have died trying to escape this disaster,

These fires have caused terror and damage, we just wish that this could end faster!

10,000 camels are getting shot because they drink too much water,

Is this situation survival of the fittest or just plain old slaughter?!

We send all our hopes and prayers and we try to do whatever we can,

I wish we could just end all these fires by turning on a fan.

But unfortunately, we sadly can't end the fires that way,

So that is why I am writing this poem so I can spread awareness today!
